Anyone see the recent change that you can't sideload apps from ios using imazing anymore?
I am still using iMazing to download the latest updates to my apps. Just downloaded and installed Minecraft 1.16.210 today. Is it not working for some?

Apple blocked sideloading iOS apps back in Big Sur 11.2. I guess it wasn't successful. Either way, if it doesn't work, you can use appdb's Rickpactor to install IPAs onto your M1 mac, even unsigned ones.

My understanding is that the block was temporary and it is back to normal (for now).

I have sideload it and it works pretty well and I play it by Xbox controller. But the only questions is that it can't login to MS account and show me a code.

Does mouse and keyboard work when sideloading Minecraft bedrock onto an M1 mac?
It does!

FYI if you want to sideload do not update to Big Sur 11.3 as sideloading is disabled in the update.

Hopefully it gets re enabled in the future, but for now if you want to sideload, stay on 11.2.3 or lower.

As a very experienced Minecraft addict; there is a reason some people prefer bedrock and others Java for Minecraft. If he wants bedrock, then he probably won't like the java version.

Don't worry. I predict it will be here very soon.
1.5 years later, and still no bedrock for the Mac ?

Yeah, this prediction did not age well. I‘m surprised and sorry to have been so wrong.

I always have to remind myself of who Microsoft really is.

embrace
extend
extinguish

Only Microsoft can say why they haven’t allowed their developers to make the absolutely TINY number of code changes necessary to make Minecraft Bedrock a first class client on macOS; but it’s certainly not a technical issue.

1) The existing iOS code base runs perfectly on macOS already; only missing keyboard/mouse support and a resizable window
2) The extensions to the code to allow those functions already exist in their Windows Bedrock code base

There is no technical reason why the bedrock version of Minecraft won't run incredibly well on the M1. The iPad version is great! I used to be able to run the android version on Intel Mac through a 3rd party tool.

What I'm getting at is there may be issues with running the bedrock version today, but these can be fixed incredibly easily. It's mostly just Microsoft flipping a switch to allow the iPad version to install.

The iPad version does run very well on an M1 iPad. My daughter has both the iPad bedrock version and the Java version on her Mac. She actually prefers to use her iPad for most things except Minecraft. I guess she prefers the Java version, probably because of the mods.

You are right there is no reason why the iPad version could not run on a Mac except for the fact that Microsoft probably does not want to promote the use of MacOS in gaming.

Honestly I wish they would either fix the performance of the Java version (have Optifine by default) or just ditch it. The fact that I need to play with the settings to get more than a constant 60fps (and sometimes still dips to around 30) using an RTX 3080 Ti (and installing Optifine) is a joke. Getting Optifine fixes it, but why should we have to depend on mods for having the game perform as it should? This is why I prefer the Bedrock version. 0 performance issues with the bedrock version out of the gate and its double or triple the FPS constant.

Unfortunately, performance is not a strong point of Java. That said I have managed to get decent frame rates from my Intel Mac with a 5700XT. The fans run like crazy though. The bedrock version was designed to run on mobile devices and is probably implemented using C or C++ so it should be much faster than the Java version.

The reason my daughter and a lot of other people like the Java version is you can download a lot of different mods for it and you can write your own mods. Its a great way to get children into software development (my daughter is going to spend a week this summer learning to write mods in Java).

It works fine with Optifine, so I think they should be able to fix the performance issues of the core code. I have been playing this game for 10+ years back when it was in Alpha state. I am not sure when Optifine was introduced, but I am still shocked the second or third highest GPU available today (RTX 3080 Ti) still struggles with it as it did ~10 years ago.

I suspect Microsoft would prefer people to use the bedrock version. The Java version is probably too open to modification for their taste.

The Mac is clearly not a priority for them.
The Bedrock Engine is already available on Macs in form of education edition already though.
So they took the time to port the engine to macOS but refuse to release the base bedrock game which is literally using the same engine and would only warrant a asset swap.
And they keep claiming it would take extra work so they'll stick to java being the only available version.
It's a shame they can't be honest with this.
I've tried to mod my way through to get native bedrock on here, but so far can't get it to work.
So java or the unofficial Minecraft Bedrock Launcher for macOS/Linux it is.
But that unofficial launcher recompiles the Android version to macOS and Linux, so it's far from being ideal and native.

Can you still side load Minecraft from an iPad by taking the .ipa file and use that to play? I’m interested in getting a Mac and this would be a nice bonus.

You could probably do it with PlayCover.
Do you have to pay to use PlayCover, or is there some other things? I heard you have a week then you have to do something, but I forgot what it is. Could you tell me how it works?

Andrew Tsai on YouTube have a lot of videos on this. Mostly focussing on Genshin Impact though but shows you where to get the IPAs. PlayCover is on Github, so you can fork it or whatever.
