Any word on when Apple Stores in Atlanta area will have the Mini 5? Have called around, as of yesterday, no dice. Ready to buy today, if supply available. Looking for a 256 GB Space Gray wi-fi. I have two older mini's to trade in, so for that reason will probably buy from Apple Store. Does Best Buy do trades?

iPad mini Mini 5 in Apple Stores?

Picked one up from the apple store Robina tonight as I couldn’t wait any long for my online order. Left China 2 days ago and eta wasn’t until Monday. Will return that one to apple when it arrives.
I did just check the BB Trade In Center website. My combined trade value for both units (Mini 2 and Mini 4) was $31 less than what the Apple Site had said they were worth. Not a deal-killer, but Apple would win on a tie-breaker. I had checked a BB yesterday, and they didn't expect shipments until next week in any case.
I am actually located a few miles from that Micro Center. I will have to check them out and see if they take trades, and what their value would be, if so.
Went to my Southlake Apple Store in Dallas/Fort Worth Area on my lunch break. At first they said released tomorrow. This is an experienced salesman I recognize. I said what about Seattle getting them and other stores east of us getting them? "Let me check". After "checking" I walked out with my Silver 256GB Cellular model.......geesh.
I just set up my new iPad mini cellular. And for those wondering, the iPad mini 4 case works fine. The buttons appear to line up and I have no problem adjusting the volume or turning on and off. The Smart Cover works and compliments the base cover well (in space gray).

Which iPad Mini 4 case? The silicone back cover or a different case? I’m waiting on info on that silicone back cover. If it fits, I’m snagging one from eBay.
Walked in and bought an iPad Air today. I really need to start opening my products in store and checking them out...

You have to pay extra to have it arrive, charged at 100 percent.

The camera cut out is not 100% open with the new mini. The upper left corner is barely covered by the edge of the cut out from the case. It can easily be adjusted with a small pair of scissors.
Edited to add: I got my case off eBay. It is legit and I paid $40. The space gray is hard to find. Amazon has it for $61.

I was worried about the volume buttons but if they’re good, then I’ll get the back cover I want. The pink ones (ugh!) are the least expensive, but I have my eyes on a different color.
I’m not too concerned about the camera, but sharp scissors or an xacto knife should do the trick. I hate having to modify but I like the silicone cover so if that’s what it takes, that’s what I’ll do.
I’ve never had a reason to use the mic on any of my iPads so I’m not at all concerned about that.

Just bought a iPad Mini 5 from the Valley Fair/Santa Clara store. It does appear the employees are a bit confused whether or not they can sell it today. The employee who helped me checked his inventory, said it was all available and went to the back to grab one. While he was in the back, another customer came in and asked about the new iPad mini and was told by another employee it will be on sale tomorrow. Luckily, the employee getting my iPad came back around that time and the other employee saw it and corrected herself.
Just bought a new-in-box charcoal gray smart cover and a lilac silicone back cover. When I chose the gray cover, a $10 off coupon popped up and I was able to use it so I got both items for $38.82.
i got one from my local apple store.i guess they start selling today.my old ipad mini 4 case fit but i need to make a hole for the mics.
Only had the 256GB version in limited numbers at the Apple store near me today. I picked up a 64GB space gray with LTE at Best Buy. Love it so far and that's good as I was surprised to have to sign that I was aware of a $45 restocking fee if returned for reason other than damage.
It appears that the cellular model ( I have one of each) has an eSim.
Small print is sharper than the mini 4 side by side. Not really something you would notice only looking at the 5.
Fingerprint recognition is faster on the 5 (probably due to the faster processor)
All in all, not a bad upgrade from the 4.

Enjoy it - I bought one with my original new iPad Mini 4 purchase years ago and it's still kicking
I was at the Apple store in Bethesda, MD yesterday picking up a repair and while waiting I asked if they’d received any. They did have some, but not all, variations of the new mini in stock and ready to go. I think they had SG and Gold available in the WiFi option, and they might have had a couple LTE models as well. Might be worth a call if someone near Bethesda just can’t wait any longer.
