Pete Alonso was struggling a lot lately, so him getting that big hit to get the Mets to the next round must feel like a bit of a redemption arc. Now is the time to increase that FA value.

I always appreciate a good opposite field homer. Alonso's last night had shades of Juan Uribe's pennant-winning HR in Philly in 2010.

Regardless of how far the Mets go in the post season, he is NOT going to be cheap next year.

Just read where teams that made comebacks in the regular season comparable to what the Tigers did this year have gone on to win the whole thing. All of them. Detroit would be the fifth to do so. I forget the exact criteria, but it involved being 10 games out at a certain date.

The Mets just figure out how to score late in the game. They are stringing together an impressive run involving late-inning heroics.

Disgraceful scenes at Chavez Ravine. Every fanbase has their share of idiots, but it still boggles the mind that such idiots can afford playoff tickets.

As a Giants fan, I would never go to Dodger Stadium wearing anything orange and black. I wouldn't even go to a Giants/Dodgers game there, period. Too many violent incidents over the years.

I went with my dad and older brother to a Giants/Rockies game in SF in 2018. Had a great time and it was a great experience. My dad had casually mentioned to one of the ballpark attendants that he was a Dodgers fan but wouldn't be caught dead wearing anything Dodger related that night.

The attendant said "Good idea. I'm an Angels fan so I know what you mean".

Good ole Dodger stadium and their fans. Boy, the outfield seats can be something else... sat there a few times and what you see and hear boggles the mind. Yeah, I won't even wear my Yankee gear there. To many Adam Henry's and then throw alcohol into the mix. No thank you. I don't even like going to the games to tell you the truth.

Yeah, if you are brave enough to wear anything resembling the colors of the Giants... you are in for a ride... especially if you are brave enough to sit in the Pavilion seats... Oh boy! To be fair if you wear anything besides Dodger gear in that area, standby.

I can't tell you how many fights, beers thrown, tops torn, security take downs, and women pulling each others hair during the games I have gone to when sitting there. I feel sorry for security and the police who are there. It gets freaking wild to say the least.

Things have changed.

I've been to a Dodgers game, but a long time ago. Actually a cool park, in a retro vibe fashion, and to give you an idea of how long ago that was, it pre-dated Camden Yards, which ushered in the era of new parks with those nouveau retro themes.

There's nothing like a live experience, and I'm glad to have had it, but the TV sports experience has surpassed going to games in many ways. Enough to tip the balance, anyway, most of the time.

With the clear devolution of society in general, willingly going to a mass gathering of tribalists isn't exactly on top of the To Do list in this day and age.

And that's before even considering the costs of attendance.

Do Dodgers fans still casually roll in during the second or third inning and leave during the 7th inning stretch? :D

I feel good about the Yankees being 2-1 with Cole on the mound, despite his struggles in game 1. He rarely has 2 rough starts in a row.

They just need the offense to get going.
