Finally damit! It is working as it should. I can Tether and MMS at the same time. Works flawlessly.

My area: New Orleans
iPhone Model: 3GS
Capacity: 32GB
Software Version: 3.0.1
Jailbroken: Yes
AT&T .ipcc: 5.1

It has nothing to do. I just used the 5.1 .ipcc. My jailbroken status just allows me to customize the dock and Carrier name, other than that, it affects nothing else.

Because of the OP, I checked my account and AT&T has removed the opt out finally (it was there last week). So, I guess if I downloaded the carrier file my MMS would work. What's 4 days. I'll wait.

Still got the MMS Opt out on my account, at least its on my latest bill.

Where do you go on the bill to find that??

You need to go online:

https://www.wireless.att.com/

Once there logon

Click on "rate plans"

Click on "view all rate plans on your account"

Click on the plan associated with the number for the iPhone

Scroll down to added features and look for "opt out"

If not there, it's been removed.

I never had MMS opt out

On my blackberry plan I had 200 messaging plan which apparently includes MMS. When I switched to the iphone with the release of the 3gs - my account never switched to the iphone 200 text plan - it remained the 200 "generic" messaging plan which I guess includes MMS as "multimedia messaging" is on my bill as an allowable feature.

However I don't have carrier 5.1 and will wait until the official release.

I don't know how many made a switch from another device and a similar thing happened. But I bet it has to be more than me.

Damn I'm in Baton Rouge and I don't have MMS working yet. It's odd I've gone more than two years without MMS since I bought the first iPhone and I never missed having it but now that it's posible for some people it sucks waiting until Friday.

I loaded 5.1 onto my phone then went back to 5.0 but it left the camera icon and mms option under settings->messages

So this has very little to do with the thread but I'm not a fan of making threads in the iPhone forum about AT&T and I'm sure we can all enjoy a little "Verizon Math" story AT&T style.

I have the $39.99 rate plan and while looking to see if my "opt out" was gone as well I remembered that when the iPhone 3GS came out my rate was reduced to $33.99, I also realized that I haven't seen this on my bill for the past few months, yet it is still showing up online. I called AT&T to ask them about this and they told me that the $33.99 rate reflects my company discount which is $10.50. So I asked why it isn't 29.49 seeing as that would accurately reflect my $10.50 discount to which I was told "Because that would be too much of a discount." I asked the rep if he was telling me that $39.99 with my $10.50 corporate discount was accurately reflected as $33.99 and he replied "Yes, it is". I asked him "So are you telling me that $33.99 with a $10.50 discount equals $33.99?" to which he replied "Yes, that is your discount.".

I honestly didn't know what else to say, so I just said thanks and hung up.

I actually think that's worse than the Verizon Math incident.

MMS opt out doesn't show up on my "view all features"....but it does show up on my previous bill, which ended on the 8th.

I still can't MMS with the hacked carrier, so maybe there's more to it?
