I would be delighted (but also very surprised!) to see any of the following:

iPhone / new iPod / games device / Ultra-portable Mac

New Airport stations with 802.11n capability and video streaming

Logic Pro 8

New iTunes media store with music, movies, books, etc.

I was just reflecting earlier about how comparatively 'dry' this year has been so far with regard to really new and ground-breaking products from Apple. Sure we've had the MacBooks (pro and non), iMac and mini go Intel - but that was anticipated for some time (and I'm not knocking the performance enhancements of these models, just saying that this was something of a natural evolution). What else? Software going binary and iLife, etc. updates (also anticipated); oh, and the iPod boombox thing. Otherwise, the only thing that caught me off guard was Boot Camp.

C'mon Apple - wow us with Leopard sure, but also wow us with some of the other new products we're sure you're all hard at work on!

Don't you just hate that l'il "*"?? I am hoping for something to come along the lines of a new Pro desk top, of re-do to the MacBookPro, this wait is killing me, two years with out a Mac, and just chomping at the bit to get a new one!:D

In all honesty, I think it's pretty realistic...

Macbook Pro 13.3"
Core 2 Duo
80GB HDD
X1600XT video card
Firewire 800
2 USB
8X SuperDrive

$1599

I want updated Cinema Displays.

In all honesty, I think it could happen, it just won't. Although, I'd be perfectly happy if they threw a X1600 card in a 13.3" Macbook and called it a day.

I can afford a MB, but I want a video card. I love the MBP's video card, but I can't afford it. If they gave the black MB a video card and charged $1599, I'd buy it in a heart beat.:)

MacBook Mini

11 inch widescreen, firewire optical slot loading drive, a slower core duo chip due to heat, and i will piss my pants lol

But I know WWDC will only yeild new Power Mac's. It's Apple Paris, and Macworld that the consumer stuff gets talked about!

I'm really looking forward to updated iMacs and MacBook Pros. Maybe like... different processors? There was a 300 MHz difference between the PowerBooks and the iMac G5's. I'd also like to see some new video cards in both those machines. Mac Pros would also be interesting to see, especially if they had anything new that's groundbreaking.

I'd really like to see Leopard and new, unique features that change the way people use their computer.

A completely new product would be AWESOME. I doubt anything like a subnotebook or a touchscreen iPod would come out, but something like a wireless Mighty Mouse or some kind of new peripheral or software would be more feasible.

Oh and maybe G965 in the MacBook.

Wow...
Considering you seem so enthusiastic about merom here and in your signature...

Maybe you should realize that Merom isn't going to debut until AFTER WWDC! as in the week of august 22nd.

Jeez....
So I suppose any of you who wanted merom can be quiet and wait until it exists.

As for what I want?

MAC PROS!

Well...
It seems to me that Merom processors were the first to be released as prototypes to computer manufacturers, since we started hearing about "overclocked supercooled" Meroms first. Where else would these modders get these pre-production chips? Would it not then stand to reason that Apple have had access to a few of these chips for many months and have had plenty of time to do much more than simply test "swapping" a Yonah for a Merom?

There have been plenty of times that Apple have "released" computers before they are ready to ship. Macbook Pro's at the start of the year for example?

So why shouldn't Apple release Merom MBP's and iMacs at WWDC, shipping at the end of August? At least then we will know if it's worth waiting a few weeks for the new chips.

Anyway with the first MBPs in mind, who here will be willing to preorder (and risk a lemon) should the Merom MBPs be launched in advance?

Me.

I want to be one of the first. It depends on my housing situation though.

Another "corollary" of my point is that surely Apple would have had a lot of time to refine their new design. Hopefully any new design MBP won't be too different (Black or dark grey metal would be soo schweet) so that the problems will stay fixed. Of course, If they majorly overhaul the design, they are back to square one. New metal housing, new CPU, and (PLEASE APPLE!) New GPU. That is all. That shouldn't change the design too much, and so most of the Rev. A problems will not show up in the new Merom MBP's.

I also did not suggest pre-ordering, just that apple show us the new revision, so that we can see what it is like. Would probably wait until a cNet review at least until ordering.

Hope this isn't complete gobbledegook (don't rib me on that spelling either)

I would REALLY like some sort of Home Theater device....an iLife device (access the music, photos, and movies on your desktop) that can do high definition would be awesome.

Maybe add a DVR as a option...and if you do, make it HD and cable-card compatible. :)

according to some IT investment experts, there won't be appeared any new portable mac until the first quarter of next year (2007). I guess that new mac pro is only left to complete mac family. there is also rumor on new line of desktop mac. iMac will be upgrade coming fall, Xserve will be out shortly after WWDC. other than that, there is nothing coming out during WWDC if you talk about hardware. So Leopard preview, Mac pro will be certainly happened.:)

Because Merom is just a vague thing until it is finalized and introduced the week of 8/22/06. If memory serves all Intel has officially said is that the next generation is 64-bit and called Core 2.

Until then, it is not wise to announce something with one of the key components being absolute vaporware.

No one introduces anything intel as far as I know unless it has been introduced- however once it is introduced they're all over it. I would not be surprised if we see merom MBPs announced in some way shape or form the same week as Merom's introduction.

Is it too much to ask for world peace?

Ok, i'd like the iPods to go Intel, and the Mac Mini to be made smaller.

or Mac Pro.

Rich.

OK, but how can it be so airy fairy if there are people with them now? We can't have forgotten the MacMini Modder who replaced a Core Solo with a 2.16 Merom? So if they are not chips given to computer companies to help design their new computers, how did that guy get that? I mean without being charged with theft and Intel Treason of course.

How could Apple release a brand new revamped MBP without a test processor? So they either spend a month or two in designing after the 22/8/06, or they have a test processor now, and most likely some test Merom MBP's just waiting for their brains to be supplied, and a million more on the way.

Even if they don't have a test processor, they do know what socket it requires, and how much power it draws, and that it only requires a BIOS (or EFI) upgrade to be dropped into a Yonah slot. What more do they need? If you ask me, that's almost as good as the blueprints to the chip itself.

I think I've made my point, be it balone (spelling?) or realistic.

I'd also like the MacPro to be released or give us a realease date

A mobile/cell device that sync's email, address book, contact etc...

OK, back to basics:

Merom, asap.

And a new GPU.

And a new case design.

And a magnetic latch.

And better cooling.

And... ok, Apple, why don't you just give us the perfect computer tomorrow? I don't care if it's not a tuesday. Quad-Sixteen core 300Ghz with a tdp of 0.1 for a 3 year battery life, and 256-SLI one gig graphics cards. In a notebook that is less than a kilo, with a 30 inch screen that folds to just 10 inches.

ok. Maybe not. But we ca always dream? Well if anyone has a time machine, it's gotta be Stevie J.

Yes the TESTING versions are out- probably by this point production-level versions- but it doesn't matter, because these are still just testing chips, not full scale production and release. Until Intel releases it and you have your supply line you can't have the system.

A newbie kind of question or two...

Are we likely to see many consumer product launches at the WWDC, or is that more expected at the event in January?

I would love to see the G6 iPod as mine is about ready to replace. Also an iPhone and an Apple organizer/ultra mobile Mac with handwriting would be nice. In fact, a stylish apple phone with real iPod storage and video and nice Mac integration would be fantastic. Why do I get the feeling that this is just going to be about Leopard announcements, the transition to 64-bit across the board (in time), and the Pro machines? Am I wrong? Have there been a lot of consumer products rolled out at previous WWDCs?

Also, will there be a live video stream of Jobs' keynote?
