The whole process of linking VUDU, MA and Amazon Video to iTunes was painless and easy. My primary source for movies these days is iTunes but I appreciate the convenience of access elsewhere. Besides some of my previous purchases outside of iTunes (mainly UV titles) are now sitting within iTunes. Nice.

Anybody have issues redeeming War for the Planet of the Apes on iTunes and only getting an SD copy on vudu? I redeemed the digital code I purchased online in iTunes, but when I checked my Vudu account, nothing showed up initially. So I unlinked my Vudu account, then re-linked and it showed up but only as SD?

Yes, it's a known issue for this past week with Fox codes sending SD to Vudu. I don't know of any fixes.

Are you saying that when you swipe down while the movie is playing, the info bar says that the movie is 4K? Mine say 4K in the library, but aren’t flagged as 4K if you swipe down during playback.

Swiping down is the only way I know to see what resolution Apple is supposedly streaming. However, that doesn't necessarily reflect the resolution you are actually getting. There's no way to see the resolution being streamed at any given moment, for instance when a movie is starting and ramping up to full 4K quality, or after pausing a movie and it ramps up again, or during a scene where the quality seems to have dropped. On other streaming boxes and apps you can get detailed stream/resolution information at any given moment. On the ATV you can only see what you're supposed to be getting, and on the TV, only what resolution ATV is set to output. Extremely frustrating.

A bundle of SD movies I got from Walmart years ago on VUDU transferred as HD movies into iTunes via MA.

I had some SD titles I scanned disc to digital on VUDU which do not show HD tags in iTunes. However, when I play the titles that have HD versions available on iTunes, they appear to be much higher quality than SD. I have one SD film that has no HD version available on iTunes and the difference is dramatic. So I'm not sure what's going on. I can download SD copies which I can confirm, but I'm not sure it isn't streaming in HD -- which is all I care about. I'm also worried that at some point, Apple is going to downgrade those SD titles that did get upgraded back to their original format. So I'm sort of in limbo not sure what to do about them, or where to upgrade them.

Is any one else having issues logging in the movies anywhere app on the ATV 4k. When I go to the MA app on ATV 4k, it says go to movies anywhere.com/link but when I search that link on google, it takes me to MA login page, and there is no place to enter the code.

It is not that tragic, though. All this info is available, just not in a end-user-friendly way.
You need to enable developer option, then you can turn on the stream statistics HUD, where detailed info is available.

Of course. Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know how to enable the developer options on the ATV 4K?

Any ideas why 4K titles in GooglePlay aren't showing up as 4K anywhere else? Could it be that the other services don't have a 4K version (hard to tell with Vudu and Amazon)? iTunes has 4K versions but the artwork is different, though they otherwise appear to be the same movies.

I had the same issue when the service first launched. You will need to reach out to their support team (via help.moviesanywhere.com) and ask for your iTunes account to be manually disconnected on their end.

That fixed the issue for me so I would imagine the same for you.

Was there an easy way to get in tough with them? I spend one hour on hold twice already and sent emails about a week ago. I am hoping they can get it fixed soon.

I had to contact their support, they manually set it to disconnected. I was then able to reconnect to iTunes and it’s been fine since.

Tell them “Movies Anywhere is not showing on my iTunes account”.

I would try chatting with them. If the agent pushes back and tells you to contact iTunes be sure to mention that you know this has been done for other users and that the issue is def on their end.

Everything's linked up, but some movies that are 4K in iTunes are only showing as HD in VUDU so far. I'm hoping eventually it can be 4K everywhere applicable, but I also realize it's early days, so hopefully these things will get ironed out.

Don’t search it just put that address in the web address box.

OK! Guys, I need some help please. How on earth do I set all this stuff up in the UK? I'm totally lost! Any chance someone can give me a step-by-step idiots guide please?

I have a Mac Pro and UK iTunes account. No Vudu or MA accounts or UV accounts.

I don't want to lose my UK iTunes account or risk losing all my music from it. Also, do I need to run this on an Apple TV?

You can’t setup MA using a UK iTunes account so you’d need a US iTunes account and a Vudu account for any Ultraviolet films you may have linked to MyUV via Flixster.
To setup a Vudu Account you need a VPN to make it look like your not in the UK otherwise no account setup.
To view on your TV then yes an AppleTV is a good idea but not totally necessary as you can link to GooglePlay and watch your movie library via YouTube or just use your Mac if you can connect that to the TV or just watch on the Mac.

Thanks Gonzo. I done a quick search to setup a US iTunes account. It seems I an do everything except add a debit card for purchases.

Once I've setup a US account, once a movie cuts across to itunes can i then add it to my iTunes library on my Mac?

Regarding Vudu, how do I go about setting up an account?

Unfortunately Movies Anywhere is currently USA-only, so I doubt you’ll have any luck with your current libraries.

It is really frustrating, especially examples such as one Planet of the Apes film having a UV code, but the other an iTunes code.

Digital seems a mess, and MA looks a great solution. I look forward to it coming to the UK (if it ever does).

You can’t add to your UK library if that’s what your asking, but you can download.
Only thing to be aware of is if you try to download or watch a movie from the US store on your Mac you will be locked out of your UK account for 90 days.
For Vudu just setup registration for a new account.

Ouch! OK. So, how do I:

a) setup a US account on iTunes?

b) setup a Vudu and MA account?

c) once all setup, how do I download to my UK itunes library? Or is this what will lock me put for 90 days?

a) http://help.playmo.tv/article/29-how-to-create-a-us-apple-id-without-a-credit-card

b) go to sites and select Sign Up

c) as already said you can’t download from US account to you UK library.
You can download to the US library but it will tell you your Mac is registered to another Apple ID which will lock you out for 90 days if you proceed.
