To be honest, I’ve had no issues with Teams on the M1. But then again, all MS apps are pretty bad on Mac. Even the Windows versions aren’t great. If I can avoid all of them, I try. Having used Slack in the past, I’d prefer it in the enterprise. Teams has un-needed complexity. Channels are a mess. I’d go on, but too much to list.

I have to use Office, so I defer to using the web variants so I don’t ruin my MacOS install.

I’m using 90% of the times the web apps unless it’s highly comPlex Excels

Hope to see an update for the Audio driver to Intel. Have avoided Rosetta 2 successfully ... no reason to give in now.

I'm using the build published by 9to5mac and its working great, I'm not facing this screen sharing bug mentioned here.

I installed the Friday build and I'm not having any screen sharing issues. Webcam discoloration is fixed too.

Same here, this is the build Microsoft Teams Version 1.5.00.11911-E, I do not have any color issues. Regarding screen share issues I only had my camera blacking out but now it's fixed.

I did notice this build is consuming a bit more memory... But nothing crazy just 1.37GB.

How are you guys finding it? Man, I'm really happy that the Channels window is really fast now and don't have to wait like minute to load everything up.

Got a new M1 Mac on Friday. I don't use Teams at all (my institute's central admin do, but nobody else), but am doing an examination this week where the host institute want to use it so fired it up on Friday evening to check it worked. Seemed to start OK, so I thought I'd just leave it open in the background until I needed it...

A couple of hours later my battery was dropping like the proverbial stone, Teams was consuming every cpu cycle it could get its grubby little paws on and was completely unresponsive to boot. So I force stop the wretch and I'll open it when I need it (and shut it down once that's done). It is the only app I've had any problems with so far: MS Office apps, Slack, Zoom all fine, Mozilla apps seem to be running better than on the Intel Mac, it's just Teams (well I expect Docker to be not so good, but I knew that in advance). Luckily after this week I'm unlikely to use it again this year, so it's not a biggie for me, but it reflects poorly on Microsoft.

Yeah i'm using the latest build and the bug isn't affecting me at all in the M1 Pro

I installed the 1.5.00.11911 (edit: And 1.5.00.12110) and it's now doing the bug on both webcam and screen share. previously it was only the screen share. rolled back and now it's only the screen share.

For info, I'm using the new MBP 16" with M1 Pro and I'm using the built in webcam.

Yeah let's hope these guys can get a stable Beta going soon... Like I have been saying for 2 years now... I live on Teams not by choice but because I'm forced because my corporation is built around it for the end-user.

Just annoys me that Microsoft hasn't fixed this sooner that's all.

Same I'm forced to use it lol. So I'm hoping Microsoft will release the stable version ASAP lol

We got some new commits!

So screen sharing is still broken, takes up to 2 minutes to start and it shows weird colors in the screen sharing. Webcam OK

So we are still working with a broken share screen.

Oh I love you Teams, updated Windows 11 yesterday, now Teams doesn't start anymore. The little loading window just sits there and does nothing.

I love wasting my time with bs like that

Teams runs fine for me on my M1 Max, no different then on my intel 5K iMac. What I do find baffling is in Windows 11, the integrated Teams app only runs on personal accounts, not business accounts. So I have to download a separate Teams installer to run Teams in Windows 11 that is made for "business". Not sure who thinks all this up at Microsoft but it is a real head scratcher. They have done this for years with Windows itself, so many variations and versions of the OS. Don't see any different between personal Teams and business Teams.

This is because the consumer version of teams and the business version are two different products. Just like Skype and Skype for Business. or Onedrive and Onedrive for business, etc.

yes, its insane

These Microsoft stacks are so crazy, having to explain to someone coming from Slack/Cisco they just keep asking why the hell is it like this and they are right makes no sense.

and on top of that they offer an iOS app that combines it all in single app. It's so so bad, really. They can obviously do it, but they just prefer to annoy their customers and do it the most confusing way possible.

I mean, the thing is.. They just keep building on top of trash so at this point they can't just start from scratch it does seem like with Webview2 they'll reboot 'apps' around.

One of my examples I usually give is the Microsoft Planner, an amazing app that isn't available for the desktop where you just have to generate a Web App if you want an app lol.

12110 is working pretty great here, although I don't really share my own screen much. Thanks for posting the most recent builds here. One thing I've noticed, if you try to use the 3 dots menu and check for updates, it updates you to the Intel version. Have to make sure not to check for updates within Teams itself.
