I went naked for a week, noticed the back logo was getting scratched to high hell. Got a thin black case on the back and a crystal screen protector. I like how it looks better now.

I've got the griffin wave case on mine, but nothing on the screen. Others have panned this case, but I love it. Is very thin, but gives the phone just enough texture to feel comfortable to hold. It is very low key and unobtrusive. But keeping the screen free is great!

Naked screen, but I have to have a case on mine. I'm way too paranoid to enjoy the naked feeling and would constantly worry about dropping it or something else happening to it.

All three generations have been naked. The aluminum back-casing took some dents and had a fine scratch on the screen. On my 3G and 3GS I cut an Invisishield to just cover where the case contacts a desk that it's resting on and a Power Support screen protector.

Reason being is I got a scratch on the 3G screen when not protected and it hurt resale value.

I was naked with my 3G for a year. I got a 3Gs last month, also naked. Right before I was going to return my phone for a defect, I noticed a hairline scratch on my 3Gs screen. I had minor scratches on my previous 3G screen. Neither phones looked "bad" with these micro scratches, but I figured my new 3Gs should be protected.

I bought the Invisible Shield (just to cover the screen) and I'm super happy! Professionally installed, lifetime warranty, in and out service (at my mall). I also bought the Feather case, because it's the only case that I've found that doesn't rise above the glass touchscreen. I hate using an iPhone case where your finger can't slide off the edge of the phone. The Feather has a matte finish, so it doesn't get grimy. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend the Feather / Invisible Shield combo. I enjoy using this method more than my previous naked phones. ;)

I'm using the same combo on my 3GS, and I agree with you. It's the best solution for me and my uses.

I had my 3GS naked until the other day, when I noticed a small scratch on the glass, but not over the screen. That was enough of a sign to me, I put on the Power Support anti-glare shield that I had bought a month or so ago. Actually, I like it better than the glass.

No case on the back though. I don't care if that gets scratched.

I have a BSE on my 3GS and I wish I had heard of BSE back when I had my 3G. The BSE is fantastic! It's a slight yellow tint and a small gloss look but it's great.

You must have the white model. I tried the IS on my first gen and ended up taking it off because of the yellowing after a week or so. Looks top notch on the black though! :D

I've been using my 3GS without a case for months. It didn't have any visible scratches at all until I purchased a Griffin Wave case to put it in during a weekend camping trip. When I removed it the bezel was scratched on all sides and there is a small scratch on the Apple logo. I don't think I'm going back to using a case anytime soon. My phone looked brand new until I put the case on.

I no longer use a case, but I feel a screen protector is a must. I'd never want that to get scratched, crack, or break.

Naked. The screen feels and looks better that way, and it fits easier in a pocket.

Mine has been cased and covered since the minute I got it. If I dropped and scratched this beast I dont think I could live. My phone has never fallen....Not even on carpet...I am VERY careful. If people wanna hold it. I make em take with two hands and off pavement. I'm anal!

where can i get a clear shield to protect just my apple on the back? im ready to order a slip pouch but still want something to protect the apple on the back..

Mine's naked, to facilitate usage of the 3G Dock. I used an incase Slider for quite a while. The iPhone really is an elegant piece of technology; it's a shame to cover it up! :apple:

Just curious to those people who go naked, how are the backs of the phones looking? alot of scratches, no scratches? i'm really wanting to take the case off mine, but very reluctant. Photos would be awesome.

Thanks.

wow..... way to not only finally time to grow some testicles.... but to share them with the world no less!

i cant be the only one who has gone naked, no screen protector, through 3 diff gen iphones ( 3 yrs ish) without any true probs whatsoever. (dropped them, abused them, no issues other than a random 3G bluetooth not connecting.

strange huh?

The iPhone screen is more or less 100% scratch proof. There's no need for any kind of case or screen protector. I think you pretty much look like a dork if you use one ;)

Do you leave it lying around in a pile of other iPhones? :D

Mine's easy to spot, its the one I have on me.

Yes, I do, it likes to socialise :). But seriously, it's just a few times when I put my iPhone down on a table at work or at a party. There's usually someone else with a black iPhone, but we'd never switch accidentally.
