I just got Beejive 3.0 and ... does anyone here have the issue where when you scrawl through your contacts and it lags a bit...??

I assume you meant scrolling. At first, it never did that but after getting 10 pages of saved chat logs on 20+ contacts, I noticed the app slowed down and was lagging a bit. I just deleted some of the chat logs and it was fast again. So far no lags now.

I have been using this for 3 months and I can't even begin to see why anyone likes it. It's overpriced and its hands down the worst performing application I have ever used on the iPhone. It is so slow to respond in everything that it does, and they never updated it or fix any of the millions of bugs it has.

I strongly suggest for you to contact them, they handled the previous Yahoo! IM issue of messages not properly pushed when the app was closed. I don't know what kind of issues you're getting but to me the app has been working flawless. I've been using it when they originally dropped the price to $12.99 which was way long time ago, and so far it has been the best IM app I've used.

I eventually gave up with it too. Using AIM free edition and it works fine.

Its time for a new update or something. 2 months...give us some new features.

Be patient. Beejive is the best!

Give us a chance. We've been putting in anti-piracy code so that jailbreakers have trouble stealing our app.

So all new development is on hold until we see the piracy rates go down.

I thought in-app purcheses were a way to cut that down. Why not offer one IM service (aka lite version) and you can unlock the rest after you purchase full version in-app.

I too just ditched BeeJive last night. Went with IM+. liking it so far. A lot quicker.

Really? i always felt IM+ was not as quick loading as beejive, However as of late i'm using IM+ again. I like the email alerts included.

Does anyone know what chatrooms Beejive uses by default? I though it was AIM chatrooms but when I look at an AIM chatroom, people are in there that aren't in the chatroom on my phone.

Beejive has been working great for me on WiFi. Even on 3G it seems pretty fast.

Also, I've had my battery drain only 10% while I have had Beejive open with the lock set to never. This isn't bad at all for an app.

Hmm. While I understand why this would be a priority, I really think it's unfair to existing customers who have paid for the app to say that further development - and fixing problems that they are complaining about - are less of a priority.

If I hadn't already bought the app and I read that I'd say forget it and move on to something else.

I'm not having any speed issues with Beejive at all. Hm.

For me it is slow to start up, specifically when logged in and reopening the app.

I completely agree with this. I just bought Beejive because I heard such great things and I had gotten an iTunes gift card for Christmas. I have a jailbroken 3GS. I am not pirating, but it sounds like this app I just spent a good chunk of change on is going to not run on my jailbroken phone any more. So once again, a paying customer gets screwed in the company's vain attempt to control piracy. Good luck with that.

I don't see where anyone said that it won't run on a jailbroken phone. Can you show us where it says that?

They are just trying to stop people from using pirated copies of Beejive, not people jailbreaking.

Beejive will work on a jailbroken phone. The only people that have to worry about our DRM code are the criminals who pirate it.

So wait, people are ripping off Beejive and you're made at Beejive? /boggle

A lot of people don't like Beejive's antipiracy measures. Unfortunately, they fail to see the burden pirating copies puts on Beejive. The entire app relies on their server to handle all of the IM connections. If they didn't control the pirates, they would have to pay for the server resources for people who didn't pay for it. In this regard it is much different than a normal app that doesn't use the developers servers. Anyways, the app works fine on jailbroken phones.

I think that's rather unfair on those of us who have bought it. Why should we have to suffer and have to put up with the bugs and constant disconnects/message not sent messages.

It's like you're punishing us for other people's ineptitude. I can see why people would be prepared to illegally download it considering you aren't prepared to fix any problems

I did contact them and pretty much made two suggestion.

1. Lower the price or offer refunds. ie, charge what is worth especially if you're not going to support it
2. Update the product and make it work.

I assumed they'd go with 2, but the pretty much told me to contact Apple about a refund, which is the same as saying they have no plans to fix it.

The issues I'm having are pretty simple, its just really slow to respond, when you rotate from landscape to portrait, it takes 10-15 seconds to appear, and it doesnt' remember your place so you have to scroll. Pretty much any time you press any button to preform any function it takes 10-15 seconds to respond. Its really really slow.
