lol i know its worth the wait... if i didnt think it was i would have settled for the basic one... usually when i buy something its on impulse and its usually because i want it right NOW!!! lol so for me to be patiently waiting and then think i have it but then i dont is pretty harsh thing to do to someone.... oh well im feeling better about it today... and i was thinking about what would be a good thing to ask for and i had thought about applecare... i dont see why they wouldnt be able to do that for me... so we will see im gonna call today and speak to the manager! i'll let you know what i get outta this... and if nothing it will be the last time i ever buy from them... so i just got off the phone with Westworld computers manager and they are going to do something for me... he felt really bad cause this has sorta actaully happened twice but the first time was a reasonable mistake -- what happened the first time was i had called in on the 3rd of march about the computer and the guy took my name down... then the next day i went in to pay for it and get the upgrade to the ati card... so he didnt take my name out of the computer from the time i called in... which i was totally understanding about... honest mistake no big deal it happened about a week after i ordered and at that point i didnt know much about how long the computer was really going to take... so this time what happened was they got some in with the extended keyboards (Which i also asked for) so instead of the guy reading the whole invoice he noticed that on my invoice it said extended keyboard, so he called me... i can understand that ppl make mistakes, i work in the land surveying industry so i understand how mistakes can be made and not to get too upset about them but for this to happen twice was unacceptable... so the manager was really understanding about how upset i was, hes finding out where my computer is for me right now and when i come in hes going to work something out for me. (applecare, printer, discount on any accessories that i want when i pick up my computer) so we will see what comes of it, anything would be a bonus for my troubles!!

I would get the managers name, have him put something down in your order to that effect because who knows if he will still be the manager when your computer finally comes in.

Babs,

I would also shy away from discounts on accessories unless their accessories are competitively priced. All too often, stores like that will give you 10-20% off accessories but they are priced high to begin with, so you don't really save any money. (versus ordering your accessories online) I would definitely shoot for something like free Applecare.

As you work it out with the manager, let him/her know upfront that you really appreciate them making things right with you and that because of this, you plan on doing continued business with them. By saying this, they are more likely to go the extra mile.

their prices of their stuff is the same as at apple... and the same as the online apple store... they are basically apple with a different name... and when apple has sales they do too... i dont know why they just dont call them selves apple! lol oh well im gonna try to get the best i can from them... they sound like they are going to help me out nicely so we will see soon... im pretty good with talking my way into getting good stuff for free... and having good looks seems to help as well lol

thanx and yes this is correct its coming from china. i dont have the tracking number because i ordered from a third party and for them to track it they have to also use their store number... but i have been told that if my computer does not get here by the 15 (which they assured me it should) then they will get me the tracking number so that i can do the tracking myself... think they might be getting sick of me calling lol!!!

Applecare is very much worth it if something happens to your Mac after the first year. it would pay for itself if you have a component fail. id say get that.

Babs, I got real excited this morning reading the forums expecting to see pictures and then the dissapointment of not getting it then even worse that they made a mistake in the process. All I can say is it is going to happen, we are all going to get our computers and we will all be happy.

I talked with Mac Advantage on Monday after I saw the shipping status change from 3-5 weeks to 7-10 business days and was told it should be in sometime next week. I am hoping it comes in by no later than Wednesday next week.

It depends on where you live and where it is shipping from. For example I live in the USA, Las Vegas, NV to be exact and mine is shipping from California and usually get things from California overnight. But avg shipping time in the USA is about 1-3 days but can take up to 7 days. However for Canada I am not sure how they work that up there.

ya thats true everywhere is different... i guess only time will tell... oh well at least we know its just around the corner... not much longer now and everyone will be enjoying their new imacs!!! since most ppls orders have started moving i find time is going by way slower cause im constantly on here reading what everyone has to say instead of not thinking about it like i have been doing for the last 6 weeks!!! lol i think i need to go back into not thinking about it... maybe time will go by faster and it will be more of a surprise when i get that call again (hopefully for the right one this time!!) lmao
