It must be very uninteresting

Yeah no progress, again....
I'm beginning to give up on this project, it's been sat doing nothing on my desk for a month (?) now, my dad seems pretty intent on doing projects for his friends rather than me, I even offered to pay him £50 if it would mean he'd actually start it, he declined, saying he's really busy (whilst watching smallville...)
Why not try and get someone else to do it?
My dad is the same he will do it for himself or friends but anytime you want it he won't do it. But if you want to buy one he'll say i can make for you but I just don't listen anymore.
To be honest, I can do it myself, but it'll look so unprofessional, I really want mine to look good, I see so many computer projects that are let down because people do the DIY approach and it looks horrible...
Right, hopefully, I will have the front panel, my dad has been machining it since 2pm and if all has gone to plan (the metal was warping in the middle , it'll be home within the next hour.
Better to be late than never eh
I'll post pictures once it arrives home.
I am actually surprised by how awesome this looks, my dads going to get some l brackets made up (So i can attach it to the actual case ) on the weekend, it's getting a bit fiddly now...
My dad said it has a over 1000 holes
Ok here's some better pictures of the panel on the front, please bare in mind the acrylic is yet to come....
Now, I don't really know what it will look like with the acryllic applied (and I kind of forget what your overall plan was for the sides/top), but I think you should spray paint the sides with a high-gloss white after the acryllic is applied, THEN cut out the symbol using the same type of aluminum as the front and adhere it or insert it on the top center of the machine (or alternatively to the sides). That would tie the look of the front panel together with the rest of the machine and it would add some visual interest in place of a glowing .
Just a suggestion.
Don't quite understand you there, btw, you have a hell of a interest for this project don't you your one of the only people thats kept checking up on it
Wouldn't call it a "hell of a interest" as much as slow work weeks recently. That and I just have a soft spot in my heart for do-it-yourself projects, especially those where you are creating or modifying something in a new way.
Sorry if my suggestion was confusing. I'm no good with photoshop, so I can't show you. But, essentially I was saying to (1) paint the whole machine, except for the front, in a glossy white. Then, (2) cut out two aluminum "" symbols, and glue them to the sides of the machine, centered. The thinner the aluminum, the easier this will be for you.
That looks cool! Like a Mac Pro Mini! Yeah!
