Hmm. Could've sworn we had another Nato strap thread. btw...isn't it called a Zulu strap if it's two-piece?

So, the guys at clockworksynergy currently have:

- 18 premium leather colours
- 6 nylon colours
All 5 of the adapter colours (Stainless Steel, Space Grey, Black, Rose Gold, Yellow Gold)

By the end of August, they will have an additional:
- 15 silicone colours
- 20 nylon colours

And they're also selling their adapters separately now.

(I'm waiting for a navy blue and a black nylon strap that I've ordered - both with black PVD buckles/loops, to match my space black watch).

Have a look: http://www.clockworksynergy.com/shop/product-category/straps-for-apple-watch/

I do have the classic buckle from Apple
And I have 42mm SS
Are you sure 24mm will fit?

Lirn8, thought I should mention this in case you aren't aware of it. If you want to use your Apple Classic Buckle band adapter for use with other bands, it will require you to take the adapter out and remove the screws with a pentalobe screwdriver. Otherwise you'd have to cut your band off. Since Apple tells band developers to use threadlocker on the screws, I am sure Apple has done so for this band. They also tell developers that if they remove the screws they should toss them and use fresh screws. The threadlocker will prevent the tiny screws from falling out over time from vibrations (which has happened to people on the forum who haven't used threadlocker on their adapters). I have the Classic Buckle strap as well and decided based on all of this info to keep my band intact and just buy separate adapters for all my classic buckle style bands. Others will go on the spring pin style adapters and I may or may not switch bands off of those or may just decide to leave them on as a dedicated adapter for the band.

You will find 3rd party classic (tubular) adapters come with the screwdriver and a set of screws (bought mine off ebay from freedomoclock and he shipped at least 6 screws with the adapter). I'm not seeing the screws sold separately packaged. I purchased off Amazon from an auto supply store some Loctite 222 (purple). It's harder to locate but is meant for these size screws (less than 6mm dia.). A number of people on here have said they used the Loctite 242 (blue) but it's made for use with larger diameter screws and bolts and requires more pressure to break the bond of the threadlocker when removing. I've seen a few posts of people saying they stripped their screw/screwdriver? and have to wonder if using a stronger bonding threadlocker wasn't the reason. Anyway wanted you to be aware of this before you remove the screws from your Apple classic buckle band.

Lirn8 you should be able to run a traditional single strap through the spring pin adapters out there as this is the lug style on traditional watches that use that strap. Not sure if that's the look you want but it would be less effort.

For others looking for a 2-strap, I have a 2 strap zulu band that I ordered off of hellonatostrap which I really love. I'll come back and post a photo. I have it on my spring pin adapter and don't think the opening for the pin area is large enough to push through a classic adapter tube. Just bought one in red from them but am returning as it's a different construction and I don't care for the doubled over stitched nylon on it as it makes it very stiff and inflexible. The black strap is super soft and comfortable.

Thought the zulu straps were 2 piece, whereas the nato are the ones that loop through. Isn't that affecting your sensor readings? Or do you just not care about that info?

It's great to see so many different strap solutions out there, but none of the nato/zulu ones look that great to me. I'd love to see Apple partner with someone like Tudor or Omega for one of their straps, though it would probably be at premium cost.

Zulu are the straps with the big rounded rings, NATO is the more sophisticated smaller square cornered version. I did this just to have a look, i have a lot of 22mm wide straps left from my pebble.
The adapters are made for 24mm but it works.

Now i have to think what i want, buy new 2piece straps, and some more adapters, or cut and sew my own straps.
Still looking for descent adapters for a lower price. These adapters i have now are very nice, but cost me 20 euros(23 usd)

What i generally don t like on the 2 piece straps i saw , that there are only lugs on one side. The normal straps mostly have lugs on both sides (some not. (Known as 5 lug and 3 lug straps.))

Here's my Daniel Wellington strap!
I cut it into two pieces and then superglued it together, so that the heart rate monitor would work.

This is exactly what I'm trying to achieve now. I bought the Cambridge strap and I didn't realise the style of strap would mean the heart rate sensor doesn't work. Do you have any tips for achieving this mod/any more detailed photos? Did you use regular super glue and does it still hold 7 months later? How did you keep the DW signature strip? Any advice for if you ever had to do it again would be useful.

this rather attractive lady (see about us) seems to sell the one you want. P&P is a couple of dollars I think to UK from Sweden. http://www.cheapestnatostraps.com/c...watch-strap-navy-and-white?variant=4869886149 I don't think you'd go far wrong for £12.

Is everyone in agreement its 24mm for 42mm?

cheers

ps thanks to BrookclynChris

Thanks for the response! I actually went ahead and tried it myself and I'm very happy with the results. I've attached an image below. I was impressed by how easy it was to do! The only issue I have is that the fake Apple Watch connectors are a bit stiff and sometimes seem to get 'stuck'. That's my only gripe.

Nope. NATO is the name of the G10 strap that is a standard from the NATO. The strap is a long strip of nylon with another strip welded to it so it forms a Y. The longest part goes through the lugs of the watchand lastly through the lug of the additional strip. The additional strip is meant to be an extra safety feature and can also be used to hang the watch (remember, this is a strap for the military!).

Zulu straps don't have the additional loop the G10 has and is just a single strip of nylon. Another thing that is different is the thickness of the nylon and the metal parts.

The following website shows the difference much better than I can explain in text: https://www.natozulu.com/content/11-zulu-strap-vs-nato-strap-difference

If you want something that looks like a NATO strap but works with the Apple Watch (aka consists of 2 separate pieces like an ordinary watch strap) you should check out canvas straps. Maratac also seems to be selling 2-piece NATO/Zulu straps.

Hmm, if it's a single long strap, rather than two pieces, heartrate monitoring likely won't work. And if the watch can't tell you're there (via the LEDs on the back), likely Apple Pay will be disabled on the watch.

Hey Carl, looks like the no longer have it in stock, but there was a drop down option there for a two piece nato style strap.
