I am on 3GS,

both load-times and routecalculation times are MUCH faster.

damn it feels snappy with 1.5!

(no joke ^^unrelated to the whole safari joke thing,... it really is fast with the 1.5)

MyRegion

I'm curious how smooth the navigation is with Panorama 3D. Has anyone tried it enough to tell if it's smoother or choppier?

I've noticed I can't download Panorama in the MyRegion apps...I'm assuming it will only be a matter of time.

No difference for me on a 3GS. In other words just as smooth.

Thanks! I was hoping that was the case. The demo video looked choppy so I was a little hesitant. That would be the only thing stopping me from getting it.

Now lets hope it comes to the MyRegion soon.

Just tried it out with Panorama and without and still noticed some jerkiness, so I guess a previous poster had it right, it's likely a GPS issue.

Maybe it's me but the graphics sure look more detailed in Panorama mode too. It just seems cleaner somehow.

Environmental variables and GPS reception aside....

I would be curious to know how much free space (after the app is installed) users have, and see if there was a link between that and some of the issues that are being reported. I'm not sure if this may even be an issue because I don't know the SDK and/or if when apps run they use more memory...or if it is completley sandboxed into the actual size of the app. I think we know that people who are at the limits of their space are required to unsynch or delete stuff just to get it installed (then put the other stuff back in)....but does the app require a minimum amount of free space to run fluidly? ....I don't know, so I'd be curious to see.

I myself have 15.6 gigs free and as mentioned, everything is fluid.

Thoughts?

That would be interesting to note. I have 5gigs of free space and apart from occasional poor gps signal, everything runs smooth.

I wonder if the various versions of Navigon are different. Example: The new 1.5, is it essentially the same as the MyRegions 1.0? I've only used the MyRegion 1.0 which was always fast/responsive on my 3GS, which is what people are saying the US/CAN version 1.5 does for them.

Interesting... hopefully someone who has experienced persistent problems can chime in and state how much free space they have.

Re: My Region

I would imagine that MyRegion would operate the same as US-CAN due to the fact that you are basically on one set of maps at any given point in time...but I could be wrong.

I've got 3.3 GB available and it's been running smooth. This is on a 3GS with panorama view turned on.

I currently have 3.6 GB's of available space on my iphone. I already have a version of NAVIgon on my iphone and I attempted to install the NAVIgon 1.5 update but a message pops up saying

" There is not enough space to download this item. Please delete some photos or videos. "

- I find this curious because I have 0 photos and 0 videos.

Can anyone tell me if i actually do not have enough free space or is my phone just acting up.

You will want to remove the current install before attempting to install the newer version. iTunes is setup to add the app to the iPhone before removing the old one, so you need to have enough free memory to load the newer version. Why Apple does it this way, I don't know - hope it helps.

I had the same issue. In order to update the app, I had to un-sync all of my music to free up enough space (even though iTunes showed my phone as having nearly 4GB of memory free). I'm not sure why you have to have more than double the size of the app of free memory in order to install the .ipa. Frustrating to say the least.

Because the IPA is compressed - I believe a lot of the app is text.

Maybe you just live in a remarkably flat area.

I wondered how beneficial it would be for those living in the flat states ie. Dakotas, Illinois etc.

I'm looking forward to it when it comes to the MyRegions as I'm in the Northwest and do a lot of driving in WA OR MT ID and AK for work.

Not very...but if they travel like you, then it's pretty cool.
