New 16" Speakers Popping

The Core Audio Driver for Boom is taking very little memory. I often have to restart my Mac because I use Bootcamp quite often. The last restart was yesterday. I have only encountered 1 bug once my audio was lower than normal. Quit boom and reopened it and it was fine afterward. The sound improvement that Boom 3D gave me on my Macbook Pro 16 speakers is insane! Sounds so much better with Boom 3D.

Yeah. It is crazy good. I'm just wondering if it still leaks memory tbh. I think you can see it overtime. 2-3 days etc you'll see if it leaks . I really wanted to use it again but yeh. I'm afraid of the mem leaks all over again lol

Surprisingly I've seen my memory usage improve with Boom running.

weird. yeah is it that much better though like compared to without Boom3D on the new MBP 16 Audio-wise?

also have you experienced any audio bugs while using it? i used to get them pretty frequently. also, this means if we are using Boom 3D we will always have the dreaded orange dot huh?

Oh yeah it's miles better. As for audio bugs haven't dealt with anything, and I run a lot of things under heavy load from Cities Skylines, to Disney+, with a lot of windows in the background, and nothing I threw at it could break Boom.

i see. also that means permanent orange dot huh?

also, how does the app handle output and input devices changing like HDMI, headphones, etc??

I want to use this to improve sound and also kinda trying it to see if it fixes the cracking sound that sometimes happen.

I don't have popping speakers on my 16' M1 Max but every now and then I notice that volume is way lower than it should be - sounds like it's muffled and not as clear - it happened with AirPods too so I know it wasn't hardware. I noticed rebooting returned audio to normal levels...

So doing a search for Audio in Activity Monitor and selecting all and forcing quit did the same thing as rebooting - returning audio to normal levels (with speakers and bluetooth headphones). I notice when audio is really low - there's usually 30-40 audio processes running when normally there's 5 on a clean boot. So forcing close on all those brings it back to 5 and the audio levels back to normal.

Just personal experience - I usually have to do that once or twice a week with all the stuff I'm running (a lot).

That permanent orange dot is necessary. The way that Boom works is it uses the internal mic for sound equalization depending on the background noise around the computer. The program even tells you this when you go to check your mic settings.

I tested the app changing devices by switching from internal speakers to my TV monitor via HDMI, as well as my Airpods Max. It switches no problem, so you can just set it and forget it, using it as just a normal audio driver. It even adjusts equalization settings depending on the new output, and if you don't like the setting it gives you then you can adjust it yourself in the equalization settings in the app or in your toolbar.

It seems the issue is gone for me since the last 12.5 beta 3 update, both on AirPods and speakers I haven't had any popping during the whole week.

Confimed on my end - 12.5 beta haven't had a crackle or pop and its been 4 to 5 days now...I hope this is it, will confirm in another week or so

Almost in fresh restart, I just start playing some tracks in Ableton. Nothing with too much consumption, but it gets overloaded very easily. This machine is top macbook it should resist it much better. It also happened to me with an external soundcard (a good one)

Ok after a week or so, it is much much better but the crackle and pop sound is not completely gone. I'll get the occasional pop sound, but now it's very rare. Definitely a huge upgrade to what it was like before
