So ? After 10 days is it still ok ?
Are you on 12.4, badlydrawnboy?Boom worked for me for about 10 days, now I'm getting frequent pops and crackles again. I hope they fix this in an update. Other than this issue, my M1 Pro 14" is the best Mac I've ever had (and I go back to the Apple IIe).
Yes, I'm on 12.4. I haven't upgraded to the beta. Hopefully, since they've now acknowledged the problem, a fix will be forthcoming. Are you on 12.4, badlydrawnboy?
I'm hoping 12.5 will hold the solution for us but I haven't upgraded to the beta yet to try it.
How trustworthy is a genius acknowledging it? Although not allowed some just say, for the sake of saying and brush you off. Any source from an actual Apple engineer?Yes, I'm on 12.4. I haven't upgraded to the beta. Hopefully, since they've now acknowledged the problem, a fix will be forthcoming.
Good to know, I am getting random audio pop with YouTube and Spotify since the last update.I’m at a Genius appointment and they immediately said it’s a known issue and that it’s been escalated to senior macOS devs and they’re working on a solution. FINALLY?

Nothing. The speakers are the same. It's a software problem with CoreAudio loading, so since the M1 Max has a lot more horsepower and RAM than the M1 Pro it doesn't have this issue.whats the difference between the Macbook Pro M1 Pro speakers and the M1 Max speakers? why no such problems with the M1 Max? I was just about to order the M1 Pro version
That's not gonna matter. macOS 12.5 will be coming out soon so you can update to that.Thank you, but if I order it now it will come with Mac os 12.4 right?

macOS 12.5 seems to be fixing the issue according to beta testers in this thread so feel free to order the M1 Pro version.
Any resolution on this issue? It seems to have developed more recently and ruins what is otherwise spectacular sound quality.
The resolution seems to be 'upgrade to the 12.5' beta, or wait for 12.5 to be released.
I played music solidly through my 14" MBP all day yesterday since upgrading and haven't had the issue once. Prior to upgrading, barely an hour would go by of listening to music without experiencing the issue.
How's the stability of the 12.5 public beta? Did you notice any other issues?
