I don't know about you, but have no desire to use an iPad for more than ten hours at a time.
It's not just about how long can you use it in one stretch. More battery life means you have less concern over having access to an outlet, or the device running low at the wrong moment. More battery life also means fewer battery cycles over a given period which is better for long term battery health.

I constantly have to remember to check and top off my iPad Pro. My MacBook Air just goes and goes and goes. That is a massive difference in the user experience.

That's just sad.
I mean, it's enough but still. M4 new design, new hardware and still no upgrade in battery life.
Honestly, 10 hours is plenty. I would have preferred a faster chip and better thermals than just what the new iPad Pro offers. Yeah, I obviously don’t have the new iPad yet, but the previous iPad Pro 13” model is insanely slow or at least incapable of multitasking. M3 is great for the average person who doesn’t need much productivity/processing power, but for those who are trying to run a business, the M chips are really terrible. I would prefer a whole separate thicker iPad Pro model with the previous version’s thickness to boost battery, as I really have no need for more than 10-24 hours of battery anyway. The most I currently use is 4-7 hours during rare power outages or heavy tasking on the go, and a separate portable battery bank is easy to work with.

With their big advertisement of "the same performance of M2 at 50% of the power," there should be a "M2 Performance" toggle switch in the Settings app that gives us M2-level performance, but with longer battery life.

I also would've take "same thickness, twice the battery" over "thinnest device we've ever made."

A charger is included.
Strange, on the US Apple website I see in the "What's in the box" section that a charger is included. On the Dutch Apple website it's just the iPad and a USB-C cable. Only the 10th gen iPad still comes with a charger (or maybe the mini as well). Could it be a EU thing?

Yup. I think 10h is quite enough, so I prefer them being lighter. Especially for 13"
I’m not sure I’ll ever need it to be lighter. The previous model was already light enough - a lot heavier than the Macbook Air but plenty light for portability. Why can’t we just have an iPad more powerful than most desktops already? iOS/iPadOS and MacOS need to be perfectly blended with VisionOS to create one seamless operating system.

Well given my 2018 IPP's battery can really only hold a charge for about three hours, I'm fine with a 10 hour life.

About 14 years of technological advancements throughout this entire product line. Still can't get more battery life 🤦‍♂️

Seems like you want a thicker iPad with a larger battery. Or perhaps one with less processing power.

I'm not switching to Windows or anything, but Apple has become very boring. The excitement has worn off, the hopes of the next "big thing" is gone. I no longer want the latest and greatest, it's more like "Crap, I have to replace my ....."

Sad that the iPad's 10 hours USED to be amazing considering their laptops used to get what? 6 hours tops? Now their laptops have better battery life than their tablets. No one asked for thinner - keep it the same thickness and weight (so more battery) and have the batteries life be at least 12 or 14 hours.

I don't spend 18 hours on my MBA either, but Apple still worked to get it to provide that much use time. I appreciate devices that can last several days between needing a charge.

I understand that the industry has decided that for mobile devices like phones and tablets "all day" battery life, meaning anything in the 8-10 hour range, is good enough because most people charge it over night anyway, but I still like to see better.

And to be fair, although iPads are always rated for 10 hours, in my experience, must actually do last longer than that.

Yes we all wanted more battery life but Apple knows we gonna still upgrade regardless 😊😊. This is great for stockholders as well

Let us all know when you figure out how to do this better!
A possible solution: make it slightly thicker for a bigger battery. The iPad Pro shouldn't be thinner than the iPad Air anyway.

Yes, I have no problem compromising an extra mm for a larger battery that lasts 2-4 longer without needing to go into low-power mode. It would still feel comfortable to hold.
