Right side of wrong
Nope unless you live in Atlanta. The Greenville, SC Apple Store has been increased from 4,000 square feet to 5,100 square feet and has been moved from the north side of the complex to the south side of it. New site plan: http://www.magnoliapark.com/siteplan.html Opening is summer-fall 2009. Construction trailer arrived on site last week, so building of the center should start soon. :)

anything in Atlanta then?

Why is there still no Apple store in Dublin?!
I mean I'm not looking for a big one, just a nice quaint apple store, even for just the experience...

I keep hearing that Washington State will be getting another Apple Store. This time in Tulalip. It is a very fast growing urban area that has the largest outlet mall in the state. I haven't been there in a while. So no confirmation on that. Also, Tulalip is about 50miles away from the Seattle University Village store.

Whatever happened to the retail store they were going to put in Jefferson Pointe in Fort Wayne last fall? Yes, I know full well that there's a perfectly good reseller(who actually does all of the service stuff for my school) near Glenbrook Mall, but I'd still love to have the option of going to a real Apple Store.

Oh. Heh. Just checked and apparently Apple had to back out of the JP space. They looked at Glenbrook this month, but there's no official plans to fill it in. If Apple does decide to go with Glenbrook(which would be awesome, seeing as I go there a ton more than JP and its closer to me) then they might go where B. Dalton's used to be, for those of you in NE Indiana.

North of where I'd like to be
Downtown Montreal? Eh?
I jog past the proposed Apple site on Ste Catherine Street in Montreal every day, It's been in black box mode since December, when the store was first rumored to open. Canadian job postings still list the store under their employment ops. Anyone know more of when/if it's gonna happen?

I know for certain that there's a new store going up in Munich and some are expecting it to open this year. It is also expected that there will be stores either this year or next in Frankfurt am Main, Berlin, Hamburg, and Cologne. So continental Europe is obviously gaining signifigance on Apple's radar, at least in terms of retail stores.

New Apple Store in Maine!!!

I love my life, you don't even know how excited I am about this, everytime I go to my family in New York I always go to the apple store and now I don't have to!

I'm still in some kind of haze of excitement.

Here's the article, they say it'll open around November of this year

forgot to mention it's going to be at the maine mall

Regarding Greenville, SC-

Magnolia Park Town Center where Apple was supposed to go has been delayed. The complex which was originally supposed to open in fall 2009 won't open now until Spring/Summer 2010. This is due to the economy. Best Buy in Greenville will be getting one of those mini Apple Stores in May of this year. Serious rumors are starting to swirl that Apple has dropped out of Magnolia Park due to the delay and has decided to locate in the Riverplace mixed use development downtown instead: http://www.riverplacesc.com/ This project is located in the West End which was awarded the Governor's Cup earlier this year for being the best tourist attraction in the state: http://www.riverplacesc.com/news/02-20-08-GvlNewsWestEnd.php Apple going here would be nothing short of amazing if it were true. :)

No offense to you Easterners but Boise better get a Store before Pocatello or Idaho Falls! My "prediction" three years ago was that Apple would announce a Store in Boise sometime in 2008. I'm beginning to lose hope that it will happen. :(

There are a few outdoor style mall areas in development though so who knows, maybe they will finally come through and I won't have to drive 12 hours roundtrip to the nearest Store.

Amen, man. I've been wanted an Apple Store here for a long time. With CompUSA gone, we've got Best Buy and Mac Life as our Mac options for in-store purchases. Mac Life is a decent store, but I'd like the original here. (Of course, an official Apple Store would probably put Mac Life out of business.)

Another Toronto Store??

Did some snooping and found this rendering:

Isnt that an apple logo?

2433056046_f71de42810_b.jpg

And this is the building currently undergoing a renovation

http://www.urbandb.com/canada/ontario/toronto/130_bloor_street_west/

And that rendering (minus the apple logo) matches the elevation found in this file on Toronto's city hall website Here

So maybe the new apple store will be at 130 bloor st w? Gucci and Lululemon are current tenants.

Question about applying for a job at an Apple Store...

Hey folks, I don't know if this would be the right thread to post this in but it's the best I could find. Apple is putting a store in a local mall near me and are hiring now. I want to apply for the Genius position but before I submit an application and resume I was hoping to figure out what something in the job description means.

They say, 'Technical guru status required'. What does this mean? How does one prove their guru status? I mean I can assume that maybe they want some certifications or maybe a few letters of recommendation or something. Does anybody know exactly what this is referring to?

thanks!

Apple really wants to come to Greenville, SC but can't get any love from property sites :(. We were supposed to get an Apple store a long time ago in Haywood Mall, but there's no appropriate space for it. Then we were supposed to get one at the new Magnolia Park (originally slated for Fall 2009, now pushed back to Summer 2010). Since they're acting up and in all reality probably won't open until 2012 (this place has been pushed back several times in the past couple of years), it looks like Apple is trying once again in downtown Greenville.

I hope the downtown location works, because if so, we might be getting a store as soon as Spring/Summer 2009!!

I hear ya. Best Buy has a decent Apple section now, but a proper Apple Store is a must.

Mac Life. That was where I bought my first Mac ever. I ordered a 1 Ghz TiBook when they were still at the old location on Fairview. I know three people that work there (and work with one of their moms, heh) so it would be sad to see them go on that level, but they could just apply for jobs at the Apple Store and be fine. ;)

Come on Apple, let's have some Idaho love!

No more driving 11 hours roundtrip to the nearest store!
