There is a new Mall being developed right in the Meadowlands complex in NJ next to Giants Stadium were there will be America's first indoor ski slope. Knowing how carefully Apple chooses their location for stores, I wouldn't be surprise if they open a store at that location.

The Detroit Free Press is saying the upcoming Partridge Creek mall store in the Detroit suburb of Clinton Township will open on Oct. 18th.

Apple store coming to new Macomb mall

A new Apple store, mall-wide free Wi-Fi, and heated sidewalks are among the features of the Mall at Partridge Creek, which opens next week in Clinton Township.

You'll be hearing a lot more as the sprawling and very upscale 640,000-square-foot mall officially opens Oct. 18, but tech fans will note that it contains the Detroit area's third Apple retail store selling Macintosh computers, iPhones and other Apple gadgets, gizmos and software....

New Chicago store?

From Chicago Business News:

Apple eyeing big store on State Street

iPod maker among retailers in Block 37 talks

Apple Inc. aims to put down roots on State Street as part of the Block 37 project.

Joseph Freed & Associates LLC, the Palatine-based developer of the retail and residential portion of the project, is in talks with Apple, as well as a host of other higher-end retailers including Coach, Puma, J. Crew and Zara, sources familiar with the plans say.

Landing marquee tenants like iPod- and iPhone-maker Apple would be a major coup for Block 37, a seemingly jinxed Loop parcel that defied development efforts for decades. Apple also would give State Street a dose of the cachet found mostly on Michigan Avenue.

"To finally, ultimately hit a home run on this hugely notorious site is a boost for the entire city," says Michael Shields, an executive vice-president with Chicago-based retail brokerage Northern Realty Group Ltd.

The status of the talks with Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple and the other retailers couldn't be determined. Sources say Apple has engaged a broker to negotiate a lease for a store as large as 6,000 square feet of ground-level space fronting State Street....

look like Apple's recruiting for a Calgary Store lead!

The store will NOT be in Chinook Centre (heard directly from leasing rep at Chinook)

Hearing it might be Downtown in "Scotia Center and TD Square"

This is for a Apple Solutions Consultant position. That is an Apple employee who works in another company's store (e.g. CompUSA, BestBuy, etc.) It isn't an indication of Apple recruiting for a new Apple Retail Store in Calgary. Sorry.

Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Cambridge, UK to get stores

Apple has begun recruiting staff for positions at two new stores. The first is the first store in Louisiana to open in the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge. The second is a new store in Cambridge, England to open in the Grand Arcade mall.

Also of note, Apple has begun recruiting staff for its high-profile store on Boylston Street in Boston. The store is still just a iron skeletal frame, but this begins the 6 to 9 months countdown that is usual from job listings to openings.

OK, first the news, Apple has begun recruiting staff for the first Vancouver, B.C. store in the Pacific Centre. This has been widely expected, but this is the first we have seen of Apple's effort to open a store in British Columbia. This also starts the the normal 6-9 months countdown to opening. You heard it here first.

Next, with the opening of Apple's 200th retail store (the San Tan Village store -- remember when they said this would be a disaster that wouldn't last more than a year?) it is time to update the list of upcoming stores. So, here is the list of upcoming FY2008 stores. Apple has announce it will open approximately 40 stores during FY 2008 (the same rate it has tried for in the last few years.) The following shows stores already opened in red,) and upcoming stores confirmed by Apple's own listings (including stores with officially announced opening dates in gold, stores in the process of staff recruitment in green, and new locations which have only been listed as upcoming retail sites in black.)

  26. Chinook Centre - Calgary, Canada - likely CANCELLED

The following are upcoming stores confirmed by mall websites, public documents, and press reports. No word from Apple on any of these or a word on possible opening dates as of yet. Unless they get derailed by planning difficulties, they appear to be locations of future stores.

New Apple Stores in New York City

Any word on when the new Apple Store at 401 W. 14th Street in NYC will be open? The space is under construction, but the last time I looked at it, it looked like there's still a long ways to go. I suppose it's possible it could be open in time for the holiday shopping season, but they'd need to maintain a very aggressive construction schedule to do so.

The latest word on the 34th Street location seems to indicate that it will be part of a new 30-story tower. If that's the case, it will be at least a couple years before that's open. It seems like sort of an odd place for Apple, given that the other retailers in the area are along the lines of Old Navy, K-Mart, and Payless Shoes. Hardly the luxury retail market that surrounds the SoHo, Fifth Avenue, and 14th Street stores.

It will be nice to see Apple finally come to Brooklyn, although I understand their new Williamsburg store will be much smaller than any of their Manhattan stores. They certainly have a market; half the hipsters I see riding the L train are sporting iPods, iPhones, and MacBooks.

The normal apple new store timeframe is 6 to 9 months to Grand Opening.. I'd say early April '08 to August '08 for that NYC store ..

Greensboro, NC and Kansas to get stores

Apple's website is now recruiting staff for two new stores. The first is in the Kansas City suburb of Leawood at 119th & Roe (Town Center Plaza), and the second is in the Friendly Center Mall in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Leawood site is the first in the State of Kansas, but the second in the Kansas City metro area. The Friendly Center store will be the first in the Greensboro metro area, but the fourth in the State.

With the new Kansas site here is the list of US States without a store or one planned (from most populous to the least, and the State's most populous metro area)
  1. South Carolina (Greenville/Spartanburg - 962,000)
  2. Mississippi (Jackson - 440,000)
  3. Arkansas (Little Rock - 583,000)
  4. West Virginia (Huntington/Ashland - 315,000)
  5. Idaho (Boise - 440,000)
  6. Maine (Portland - 243,000)
  7. Montana (Billings - 129,000)
  8. South Dakota (Sioux Falls - 172,000)
  9. North Dakota (Fargo - 174,000)
  10. Alaska (Anchorage - 260,000)
  11. Vermont (Burlington - 169,000)
  12. Wyoming (Cheyenne - 81,000)

There are many rumors that a Little Rock, AR and Greenville, SC store are in the near future, but nothing confirmed yet.

So how long till Greenville, SC? Is it still late 08 at magnolia park (which is gonna be a pretty cool place) and how long till apple makes it official?

Liverpool begins recruiting staff

The previously rumored new store in the Liverpool One mall is now recruiting staff on Apple's website. This is the first official confirmation of this store and will make 18 confirmed UK locations (12 already open, 6 pending.) If the normal timeframe from the beginning of recruitment to opening plays out in this case, a late spring or summer opening is likely.

SF store to open on 11/23

The Chestnut Street store has announced its opening on November 23, 2007 (aka Black Friday.) This is the City of San Francisco's third store, the SF metro area's 14th, and California's 38th. The normal giveaways apply.

i still can't believe downtown seattle doesn't have a mac store anywhere. the nearest one is by UW, which really isn't that close to the heart of downtown. pretty techy city, surprising. didnt even see a new one planned on that list.

Does anybody in the UK know if there are any plans to bring an Apple store to Liverpool?
