Conflating the majority's desire to not have everything politicized with this counterproductive intersectional silliness is not the same thing as being "bigoted". Pretending it's the same thing is super dishonest.

What's politicized about this? it's a watch face and band. Either buy or don't.

Are bands and watch faces based around countries flags politicized? Do you care about that?

Your post is super dishonest.

Funny how "some" in the so called majority act. I didn't realize everything had to be based around and for that majority.

Disheartening to see the comment section of… *checks notes* a watch band take such a venomous and hateful position. Crazy that my skin tone/culture is a political issue now (again?).

Just for the record, the reason why Black History month and “virtue signaling” (🙄) like this are necessary reminders of what the Black community has endured for centuries is evidenced by how viscerally most of these comments are.
if you think the polite opposition and disagreement with the unity product is *checks notes* “a venomous and hateful position” that people are taking, then you’re exhibit A as to why so many people cannot engage in political discourse or discourse involving groups. Nobody in here has gotten angry, except those on the left that seem flabbergasted that we have the temerity to suggest that releasing products that target only specific groups is exclusionary. This isn’t going to ruin anyone’s day.

I think the country and the world are in serious trouble if simply mentioning “black unity” pushes the thread into political news

😵‍💫😦

Hugely. And the top comment saying "Um, No this isn't wanted." isn't being removed for blatant racism.

Then there's "I didn't realize it was "black unity"... I thought it was just "unity". Yikes. Guess I'll wait for the white unity band then, hopefully I can celebrate that one if males are included." < - - Like why is this still here?

That my friends, is a textbook strawman. Who in here has lobbied for "everything" to be based around a majority of people? The answer is no one. I'm pretty sure lots of folks have said they want other options also OR as I stated, wished Apple would do this for charities or causes for a cure.

That's not the same.

How is the person's post saying it isn't wanted, "blatant racism"? Are people supposed to be made to want this?

As to your second paragraph, it is to show the hypocrisy of allowing a group/ethnicity/race to have a particular product pushing "unity", but not another. The left would have eviscerated Apple had they released a "Jewish Unity" series of products, after Oct. 7, 2023, but this is fine. How about we look to come together around ideas or shared values rather than by group/race?

If they wanted it removed, it would be removed. Take that as you wish.

No one uses any of these wallpapers /faces. EVER. I’ve not once in the wild seen any of it. The virtue signaling is exhausting.

If apple wanted to truly cut down on waste they’d not make products no one buys. But for them it’s just the cost of keeping their ESG score high I guess.
I know many people who use them. Not everyone inhabits homogeneous spaces

Show us, please. Oh, I get it, any opposition to anything the left loves is racist/fascist/every other "ist" word the left misuses, abuses, and has caused people to just not care about anymore.
Yes, you seem really interested in me "showing you" by immediately following up with a straw man.

The first reply is racist as hell. Just because someone doesn't scream "I hate Black people" while wearing a white hood doesn't mean they aren't saying something racist.

Looking forward to the inevitable Pride month meltdown when they release those Pride-themed watch bands and wallpapers. Always amusing how the "I don't care" crowd somehow musters enough energy to rant about it. Real indifference means scrolling past without comment, but instead we'll get the usual flood of hateful responses.
Isn't that just the damn thing??? "I don't care!!! I REALLY DON'T!!!! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING WHEN I DO NOT CARE!!!!"

Sure, Jan...

These campaign is just another indication of how these global advertising agencies and corporations
are going overboard with who is what..... and how can we exploit them!

personally, the design looks sharp but the graphic was hard to read at first.
and we need the LATEST software to use this graphic,
another  tactic to induce those who are on the 12th vine* to climb that walled garden some more.

You said so yourself:Apple is a GLOBAL company. There are entire countries and even an entire continent that is majority black. For that matter, white people are a minority worldwide. So if watch faces and watch bands appeal to black, Japanese, Muslim, or Buddhist people… it makes sense. Good business for them.

It wasn't racist, you're just someone, typical of the "modern left" that views opposition and disagreement as an "ism". You people are impossible to have discourse with. There were no strawmen in my post.

'Cause y'all not so subtly get really vocal about a sudden desire to "come together" and "share values" when someone gives black folk recognition.

I would take any of you more seriously if you'd have this same feeling every other day of the year, and get loud about it.
