I really like the muted colors option. So far, the Midnight Blue is my favorite. IMO, they should also look good on the SGS.

I just ordered the turquoise, although it doesn't really look turquoise to me. I already have the white, pink and green sport bands. I think I'm done for now

can someone explain how a company can design a product line and know of the "Announcement" date (planned months in advance) for new color bands and not have the accessories ready for sale in their retail stores? I understand higher end products like the watch but the sports bands can't possibly take that long to manufacture. My local  stores are saying 2-3weeks for the new colors to arrive. Shows "coming soon" on web store for in store purchase.

Ok I'm done ranting.

They're keeping supplies artificially short. If they're not doing this on purpose to make it look like they can't keep up with demand, then they need to take a serious look at their supply chain.

I can think of a few reasons:
  • It's important for Apple to keep the news of incoming new colours quiet otherwise it could impact their sales before the announcement. We all knew that new colours were coming (because that was inevitable), but we had no idea what colours! That secrecy means manufacturing can't be ramped and distribution can't be extensive before the announcement.
  • Just because Apple knew when they would announce it, doesn't mean that the date was convenient for them. They had to announce it at the event because it was likely the last big event they'll have this year.
  • They're an accessory - having them backordered doesn't diminish anyone's user experience. You bought the watch before the announcement - not on the condition that you'd get a new colour soon.

the sports bands can't possibly take that long to manufacture

I mentioned earlier in this thread that there are more than 40 sport band types being manufactured by Apple. I'm sure it's actually a manufacturing hell!

Yes! I agree. I
I think with all these new band options, Apple will make more money off the bands than the watch itself. It's like the printer ink cartridges :)
Yes! I agree....I am already looking at other colours! and I want the Hermes bands...hmm! That means buying another watch! Have to decide...don't think I will buy the new I Phone as I am happy with my 6 plus. Also I am happy with my iPad Air 2..... So maybe more to spend on watches or bands!

That was my way of thinking, I love my 6 Plus so no desire to upgrade this year, and now that there is no iPad Air 3 I can keep my iPad Air 2, so that means I can buy a few bands :)
