It starts to sound a little... desperate.
It's just what some people like to do on these forums, no harm

You're right it's not egregiously bad. But out of interest I just had a look, I reckon you could get the 3 Control Center panels (Main, Audio, Home) as they appear on 4.7" iPhone portrait to fit into the 9.7" iPad portrait screen space, all at once without needing to swipe between them, bearing in mind you don't need to duplicate some of the side margins when they're next to each other and you could possibly go edge to edge as there's nothing else to scroll through. AFAIK iPad Mini has the same relative screen space, it's just smaller, so that works for that too. If you can fit it into portrait then it follows landscape and 12.9" should be easy too.

That just seems like a simple little improvement they could do to make the most of the extra space. Tada

iOS on iPad would greatly benefit from a MacOS esque Notification Center that is swiped in from the right side which has multiple pages housing Notification Center, Today View and Control Center.

If that raise questions about where split screen multitasking would be accessed from check this post out...

This could make a lot of sense. iOS on iPad more closely resembling macOS than the iPhone seems logical. As you rightly point out, currently that gesture is in use but could be switched for the left side.

No harm indeed. I'm not personally offended by it and I definitely am not suggesting the design as-is is the best possible solution for all cases. It surely is not.

iOS on iPad needs more optimization for the bigger screen. I understand having things look the same for consistency. And I'm a fan of the new CC on iPhone (pages and all). But just blowing it up to accommodate the new pages I don't agree with. Apple watch os3 CC doesn't look like the one on the iPhone. The iPad might as well have something unique layout wise.

Was just watching this iOS Android comparison video and when the Control Center is spoken about it is pointed out that iOS doesn't have as much user customisation! It's sad to see Android ahead in this area...

I see the separate panes as a form of user customization, since it will always display the last pane you use.

If you listen to a lot of music and nearly never touch stuff like torchlight etc, it's a huge improvement as there is now less clutter.

For those that never listen to music, you won't have to look at the music controls ever again.

Having a single page of controls is good, but at some point it will limit Apple's ability to add new settings like turning on and off hotspot. As there is only things you can put on a single pane before it becomes cluttered.

Hardly anything new or surprising.

Or they could allow customisation :D

WatchOS!?

That's been said more than once in this thread now. What is it that can be customized on WatchOS that can't on iOS? (Bearing in mind they have a different UI in the first place I guess I am asking more about functionality, rather than a specific UI element)

I've been using the iOS 10 beta for a couple days and I'm not as concerned about CC as I was before. If I'm listening to music it pulls up music controls and it remembers the last pane you had up. I think I've had like one instance where I was listening to music and went to pause it and it pulled up the toggles pane.

watchOS isn't any more customizable than iOS.

- Watch faces. No different than changing your lock screen/home screen wallpaper on an iPhone. (It's the first thing people seee on your device and it's the only way to "show some personality".)

- Sounds. Well can't change any of those on a watch, so iOS wins this hands down.

- Taptic Engine. iOS has far more Haptic feedback patterns and you can make your own. The watch has only a couple and no custom made ones. (Pre build ones don't sync to sound either like you can set in iOS for 6s, 6s+ and SE)

I'm sure there is more, but that covers the three major areas one would want to customize to be "theirs" (look, sound, feel)

It would be cool if CC opened on X page based on Siri Suggestions such as time of day etc like when offered to open apps on the lockscreen etc.

For example if you turn your bedroom lights on when you wake up every morning CC will open to the Home page...

Air drop should take the lock screen's place, making the top row for wireless connectivity and the area bellow for display settings like night shift, brightness and screen lock (future dark mode).

Wow, Android is more customizable!? This is brand new stuff.

Dont love it, dont hate it.

Its nice to see some variety, same with the new notifications and all other design changes. They arent super beautiful but its nice to see something new after one or two years of same design.

But they could make more out of it. As some saud, toggles for low power mode or 3d touch gestures.

Wouldn't care about customisation if low battery mode was added. There's space now!

Low Power Mode is another toggle that people would greatly benefit from, there really does need to be more focus on toggles as there's so many that would be so useful in Control Center

Frankly, I would rather have a long vertical Control Center (like Notification Center) thats editable, than page swipes. Anyone wanna make a mockup?
