I didnt' really see any feature worth upgrading for.

I actually welcome this feature because I may put my phone on to charge in my kitchen and then step into my home office and it never fails that as soon as I take a seat and get comfy, the phone rings.
This and I'll use Skype to make phone calls from my Mac, now I do not have to worry with that subscription any longer... well, until FaceTime lets me make group video calls, then I can get rid of Skype.

My mac has longer battery life than my iphone so now my mac can be everything in my life once the beta arrives. Convenient.

I am, currently looks very similar to Mavs with different fonts.
Installing as upgrade on the '13 MBA 1st, test, then a clean install, test, then '13 iMac and '12 Mini with Server....later on of course. After everything has been backed up ...twice. :)

4 mins remaining

Yay. Share the picture of the installer process!

the trash can at the demo looks alot like the windows 7 trash can without the green icon on it.

Same, but I'm sure it will grow with the more apps you place in the dock and the dark theme is a welcome change, at least we have the option now.

I just don't have a ton of apps in my dock so it will just be this little rectangle at the bottom center of my screen.

I'm going in.. wish me luck.

On a second partition?

----------

I like the new dock.

On a second partition?

My Mini server houses all of my vital info while my iMac and Air just saves everything to it so no need to do any dual boots, just install and go, if i need to revert, i do that and info never gets lost.

Now updating my server to Yosemite.... that's a different story.

I really liked most of the features presented. However, the visual aspect of it is a "NO GO" for me.

I don't like the flat design, period. I don't want it on IOS and I don't want it on OS X. I'll just stay where I am now.

I don't mind the dock, but the top of the application windows will take some getting used to.

The dock is OK but I really dislike the new active indicators. Tiny black dots! At first I thought there was a speck of dirt on the screen.

Looks superb. I have an iMac, MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPads so the continuity features look incredibly appealing, especially being able to SMS. Lots to love here unless you are an ios7 hater, in which case you are screwed.

I just love the clean look to it.

more than just new features, it's the under-the-hood changes that i am most excited about. and MUCH PREFER the new dock to the fake-3D one...

I remember when 10.5 came out a lot of people complained about that 3D dock...

Pretty sure there will be applications like CandyBar which will allow you to go back to the "old"/formerly new 3D dock.

Not to say you don't know what you like or dislike but I have installed Yosemite on my rMBP and it looks amazing. This is one of the nicest updates I've seen in a long long while.

I don't think the images do much for the new look, you need to physically see it on a machine to appreciate just how good it looks. It's not like iOS if that's what you're thinking, it's much nicer...I want iOS to look like this.

I like the new Dock look. Especially on the side with lots of icons. A lot less intrusive than the bordered black one.

Much nicer in Yosemite than in iOS7/8.

Yech. Hate the flat, colorless, ugly icons. Definitely backwards.

And how is it a step backwards when it was never like that before?

Fine. Stay were you are and when the developers that were there today make new applications that only work on Yosemite please don't come here and bitch that your older Mac OS install is not supported. :)

I woudn't say it's fake. I mean the Mona lisa isn't fake though it looks 3D.

Anyway, yeah the features under the next MBPr are something I'm looking forward to :D

Lol. Ok, thanks for the advice.

You can also disable transparency if that is a deal breaker for some.
Still trying to find the "developer" black mode.

What do you mean disable transparency? We can let go of the dock? And there is no dock behind? Just apps?
