That prediction said that iMacs would be announced at MWSF, which as you know was six weeks ago.

Yea that's not the most trustable source of information. It'll be before the end of Q1.

If Apple is going to release Clarksfield or Arrandale based iMacs before the end of this year, they're going to have to get on a faster development cycle than they seem to be at present.

I just mentioned something, I don't really care about update after the next models because I'm going for one of those. Apple always comes up with something cool

i think im going pull the trigger and just buy my 24" imac this week. been waiting for 4 months now...and i can't stand it any longer. eff the waiting game.

I've been waiting over 6 months because I want the new one, don't want to pay that price for so outdated HW. New ones are released in March (they should at least) and I think I have a month for that.

If the current iMacs will suit your needs, go for it.. I did, and im loving it :D

Just buy the iMac now before it´s out of stock. Like the cinema, Apple is now just emptying the storage before they shut down the business...they are bored I think.

Lol..

Sorry had to post just cos that was funny :D

Im on my 2nd day of mac ownership, weegiemac, these things are spectacular.

Nothing like a bit of sarcasm for added chuckles. :D

I know how you feel my friend, and over the weekend I'll be looking to purchase my own 20" should one appear on the Refurb Store at the £645 price point I now seem to hark on about a little too often for my own good. If not then it'll be late March before I make my way to the Apple Store in Glasgow to purchase a new system.

The feeling of opening and setting up a new Mac is a good one, and I'm glad your enjoying your experience on the system. Can I ask, is this your first Macintosh?

My Alu & Glass iMac will be my fourth iMac since the G4 and I am still looking forward to hooking my (then) old system up to the fresh one and transferring all my MP3's, Videos, Photos, etc.

Good times ahead.

I have been using my iMac 20" 2.4 GHz, 4GB Ram, 320GB HD for 2 days now! Took delivery from my John Lewis who said they were getting more in stock within the week, and i can confirm this because i work there myself and we have a delivery incoming of about 10 iMac's, so i think its very unlikely for a new iMac to be selling in a few days!

I was going to wait until August until buying my iMac incase of an updated version but i drove myself crazy waiting for only 1 month, so decided to go for it and i don't regret it at all, BEST DECISION IV'E EVER MADE!!!

Gratz! It really depends of your needs.

Do you get those iMac straight from Apple or from a warehouse of John Lewis/other company?

If it suits you go with it, lol. Also, this is my first iMac...Setting it up is nice, I didnt put everything on, didnt want it cluttered yet?

My 6th sense tells me that Apple is targeting to release next iMac/Mac Pro together with the coming Snow Leopard. The market won't response to a speed/memory bump-up well due to the finanacial downturn, will it? In this context, the next upgrade must be something special to boost the sales.

where is my new imac gone??????

Is it really waiting for the new mac mini? Are they come together in March???

Apple never releases hardware with new OS. It's all about money. When people buys new Mac which doesn't include Snow Leopard, most of them will buy that later, and that is extra 130€ for Apple.

Btw, Snow Leopard will come at the end of Q2 or Q3, that can be a half year and it's impossible that Apple will wait for that

I had a dream.

I was visiting macrumors and then the frontpage said the new iMac is release!

And i was calling 1800-MY-APPLE and crying while ordering the new imac

-.-

Ouch. I had a dream the other day that I got an iMac

You are really desperate guys :D HazRutter's dream became true

We don't know. It's likely that it'll come in Q1, and that means at the end of March we should have new iMacs/Minis out. But this is MacRUMORS

I don't know, they said that things should move along fine without Steve, but sure doesn't look like it to me. :(

Wheres all the action?!? And why cant we get a sneak peak of the new iMac like the Mini's got (regardless if its fake or not).

Don't get your hopes up yet guys. Apple is still sending its retailers significant amounts of iMac stocks.

I'm going to pull the trigger this week on a 20" iMac with BT keyboard and mouse to go with it.

I agree that from a business point of view, it makes absolutely no sense to release a new product and bundle it with Snow Leopard...they'll make more money by sending out iMacs before Snow Leopard hits the shelves.

Yes it is, and that's taking into account the fact that the iMac uses mobile CPUs.

Yea, but iMac uses high-end mobile technology, eg. 3.06GHz was best mobile CPU available then (correct me if I'm wrong)

I decided to wait for end of March, if no new iMacs then, I'll build a quad-core Hackintosh for me
