So it's been 5 days since I've gotten a fedex tracking update that said my iMac left California. It's supposed to arrive to me on the east coast tomorrow. Starting to worry...
Same position for me. Ordered day 1. Shipped CA on the 29th. Last tracking update was June 30 leaving Sacramento, CA at 10:02 AM. From then until Aug 1 it said the next scheduled update was Aug 1. That came and went and the message disappeared. Scheduled for delivery tomorrow in Manhattan. We shall see if it makes it. Hopefully it was just missed on the scan on the truck at whatever stop it made on Aug 1.
Ordered on Sunday. Still stating "not shipped yet." Getting bummed because I was off this week and hoping to have it to play with over the weekend.
I did order it with AppleCare, so I'm wondering if that's the reason the tracking system isn't connecting the two. A few pages back (I think on this thread) someone mentioned that Apple's system doesn't track well if a machine was ordered with AppleCare until they're merged in the system.
Still says expected delivery between Aug 5 and Aug 10, though. Do they have Saturday delivery?
/feel like a little kid waiting for his new toy!
Yeah I don't think fedEx always scans packages into it's system. As long as there isn't any inclinent weather delays we should have our new iMacs tomorrow.
Well guys my 2.93 i7 came today, must say i'm delighted with it, transferred from my old imac and everything went smoothly. totally worth it.
now time for starcraft2
Really happy with my purchase.
upon boot up I do not have any yellow tint or high pitched noise from changing brightness and no gray bands!!
First thing I did was install Starcraft 2. Set everything to HIGH and max res. Only a tiny bit of slow done but still very impressed with it!
Will be installing Windows 7 later! and will have some pictures uploaded of my setup.
Apple doesn't monitor the tracking information after they ship out their products. Once the box leaves apple, its in either UPS' or FedEx's tracking system. As for the AppleCare, if you order a Mac with AppleCare it is automatically enrolled and there is no sign up required. There isn't a separate package for applecare
My 27", 2.93 i7, 8GB (2x4), 2TB +256SSD, MagicTrackPad + MagicMouse + Battery Charger arrived a few minutes ago. Assembled in the US, not China. All packaged very nice with keyboard, trackpad, mouse, CDs and battery charger all in the same accessory box. Unfortunately, they only packaged two of the six rechargeable batteries. There was space in the accessory box provided for them, but they forgot to put them in. A quick call to Apple resulted in another Battery Charger being sent out and I get to keep the "old" one. Yeah! Still scared to turn it on, but when I do, hopefully it will last as long as the 15" 800 MHz, 768 MB, 60GB-HD, flat-panel iMac it's replacing. Take care!

Ok... So I just found this forum and after seeing that geekbench score of 9882 I CAN'T WAIT to pick up my iMac 27" i7 with 8gb of ram this afternoon!
I am a full time photographer and for the past three years I have been working on a 17" Macbook Pro Core Duo 2.16 ghz, 2gb ram with a Geekbench score of 1,420!! I think I am going to see a drastic improvement in speed and get far more time back after sifting through, editing and exporting thousands of wedding images.
Can anyone confirm a vast improvement in RAW rendering speeds in Lightroom?? Would love to know.
Can't wait to get home with it and fire it up for the first time!
Wow! Now that'll be a big change. Can't imagine how you'll feel even just turning the thing on!

When you order the Apple Battery Charger with your iMac, it will arrive with two batteries installed in the Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad, two batteries installed in the Apple Wireless Keyboard, and two batteries in the box.
