Today I went to a apple premium seller, to buy a new 24 inch imac. when we decided which one, the 2,8 ghz :(, we found out they didn't have any imac's anymore. They said they could not order them anymore. This could only mean one thing. Apple is selling the last of their imacs, and new one's are heading our way:)

I gotta do it....

*raises Shennanigans flag*

After I read this post I called my local Apple Retail store and said I wanted to buy a new imac and could he check his local inventory on a couple of specific models. After checking the back he said...

"We have tons of all the imac models"

Sorry. Believe me I wish this was true and if in the next week an update comes out I will happily bump this thread to illustrate to the masses what an idiot I am (and if I forget to please do so yourself because the shennanigans flag is not something to wave about haphazardly), but until that time I am taking this with a rather large grain of sodium chloride.

And in what way did you disprove the OP's post?

He said that shop had none in stock and couldn't order more from Apple.
You said that the local shop had loads in their own inventory.

Totally different!!

well the store I to went is not really a big store, I am from Holland so...,so this means they don't have many computer in stock. Now they said they had run out of imac's, and they could not order new ones. I really hope this means that a new imac will be announced soon.

I really hope this means that a new imac will be announced soon.

I also hope for this.

As far implications I was trying to disprove your post, that was not my intent. Just trying to give my pessismistic view point because it would just be too darn convient for my situation if an update comes soon. Hopefully you took my post in the good nature that was intended. :D

Whats getting mixed up here is the facts and the want to be facts. Saying that there won't be any new iMacs because there are still plenty of them in your local store, doesn't say sh*t. Not saying it will but still, there's a difference

However, the way he said it might be wrong, but what he said is probably true. Most of the time whenever these things happen its just a order that has been delayed or something. Plus, the reason I'm most sure about the idea of the new iMac being there "very soon" is there haven't been that many real indications there are new Macs up ahead. They might be, but most of the time there is some kind of a clue in the firmware's or something.

no it is not like that, they could not order new ones, it's not like a order got delayed or something

I need them to release them as soon as possible, my laptop is on its last legs sadly..

I hope you are right OP

This made me to change my mind. I was going to order 24" 2.8GHz, 2GB with 8800GS, but not gonna do that now.

I really hope that it's around corner, I'm so tired to wait anymore.

And saying that there will be new iMacs because one store ran out of them says...?

I found this from AppleInsider forums

"I ordered a 20in Imac over a week ago. And it never showed up.
When i called they said it will ship on monday feb 1st.
But could not give me anymore info as to why the delay. But said it will be worth the wait.
He also mentioned to watch the super bowl commercials. ( Could this be a sign of new releases)"

Another buyer without product.

BTW, when is the superbowl?

this could be real seeing as he said that the store are not ordering any macs just now when they are out ot stock and now there are 2 other examples above about more imacs being delayed to February

well i think i'll hold off just a week or 2 more and se before i go for mine

That's weird. Could this be a sign? Anyway, rumors do point to an imminent release...

When was the last Apple ad on the Super Bowl and what was it for? When was the last Mac ad on the Super Bowl and what was it for?

I'd like to know if a Super Bowl ad means that the upcoming iMac update will be significant (quad-core, multi-touch Mighty Mouse, small design change, something else new) or incremental.

I hope they dont come out soon, or ill punch myself in the face for buying a iMac recently :(

All my posts here are dominated by my self harm plans if Apple release the iMacs soon haha :D

Awesome! I think this means we can expect it sometime next week? I really hope so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

January 22, 1984, and the Macintosh 128k, I believe. :D

25 years since then...25th Anniversary Macintosh? (Doubt it.) Or just a "Macs for 25 years" ad ending with the newly updated iMacs?

Awesome! I think this means we can expect it sometime next week? I really hope so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
So do I, but I'm staying on the pessimistic side. At least until more rumors come up.

I promised myself I would not do it, but man that kool-aid is looking TASTY. :D

Oh, for the non US-ers, if you are not aware, superbowl commercials are typically a big-ish deal for a company, costing millions of dollars for a couple of seconds of airtime, so I would ot be surprised if Apple did introduce something that way. They do like to make a splash.

Maybe a new product?

Apple 5.5"/7"/9" larger-than-iPod touch mini-tablet?
Multi-core "iPhone Pro"?
28" Core i7 iMac?
Mac mini-Apple tv-Time Capsule Combo Mac!

*stops dreaming*
