Does Apple have any upcoming press conferences scheduled? because theyre not going to release it without one, and it seems they dont. They usually give the press 2 weeks notice, not always, but usually.
If the iMac is not redesigned, and I can't imagine that it will be, they won't have a press conference for it.
Unless the Mac Mini is being redesigned and released at the same time, in which case they would.

I didn't say "stop" the rumors. Just simply "crub" them a little to something realistic with at least some proof. You knooooow, this is a rumor site![]()
do you think that the new imacs of which are supposedly coming out will have the new Snow Leopard OS installed?
More MacOSRumors tales...Don't know if anyone posted this from another rumor site, but here for what it is worth:
I don't recall any other rumor sites saying Nehalem in the new iMacs.MacOSRumors said:In recent weeks, the grapevine has moved from speculating about new iMacs based on quad-core Nehalem Intel Core i7 processors
That's even more far-fetched than their dual-GPU gaming iMac rumor.MacOSRumors said:At some points, Apple has considered high-end versions of the iMac which would offer four cores either through twin dual-core chips or a single quad core chip.
Core i7 comes surprisingly close to dual Harpertown performance. So MOSR says that Apple hasn't released a quad-core iMac because of cannibalization, and then puts out a rumor that Apple will release an iMac that would cannibalize more of the Mac Pro sector than any previously possible quad-core iMac.MacOSRumors said:Because of cost considerations and potential cannibalization of the higher-margin Mac Pro sales, such a machine hasnt yet made it to market.
However, the new Nehalem Core i7 platform from Intel turns this argument just about completely on its head.
I'm sure it will with, you know, a TDP 2x as much as the rumored 65 W CPUs, and 2.4x as much as the current top-of-the-line 55 W CPU.MacOSRumors said:Even at the highest 2.93GHz clock speed for the standard (non-Xeon) i7 desktop chips, Nehalem fits very comfortably in the iMacs compact design and even helps reduce fan noise further, to virtually silent, over the current designs.

So when is this update going to happen this upcoming tuesday?
Are the changes only suspected to be done to the high-end iMacs?
I hope they dont come out soon, or ill punch myself in the face for buying a iMac recently![]()
He also mentioned to watch the super bowl commercials. ( Could this be a sign of new releases)
Maybe a new product?
Apple 5.5"/7"/9" larger-than-iPod touch mini-tablet?
Multi-core "iPhone Pro"?
28" Core i7 iMac?
Mac mini-Apple tv-Time Capsule Combo Mac!
*stops dreaming*

I think its too soon for Core i7 based system from apple .... i can definitely see them doing a C2Q but the i7's are just too new and too expensive... motherboards are really limited and really costly ...
Unless they want to market an iMac Pro![]()
I wouldn't mind seeing a 20" fazed out, and a 26" introduced. With maybe 8mb ram and a 3.66+ processor. Doubt we'll see a major overhaul till at least the last quarter.
