... who SERIOUSLY expected something during the SUPER BOWL??

Jobs recently talked about not looking to the past and celebrating the 25th anniversary. Too many of you are clinging to hopes and creating disappointing predictions based on fairy dust.

the imacs are allready great, but when they are out of stock in the store me and my parents wanted to buy our imac, that has to mean something. If they could order new ones, we would have bought it allready.

They weren't even proper rumors, just ideas people dreamt up in hopes of an update. Some were even imagining Snow Leopard was being released with the Super Bowl despite Apple officials saying it will be released around June this year.

I've never seen a rollercoaster of self-expectations like the iMac/Mini crowd. You all inflate yourselves on BS and then crash hard. Just wait for it, don't create drama.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

I'm just back from the apple store. Had a play with the 24". I was so tempted to buy it but I have a feeling I made the right choice not to. I think before this month is out we will see new macs. And that 24" is mine !!!!!!!!!!!

After the new imacs come out, when will the next imacs come out after that? That's what I'd wait for. Unless you think it would make sense to wait for the generation after that one.

:)

Before Christmas, likely. WHY THE HELL YOU JUST WAIT???? If you just wait, wait and wait you should/will never buy anything. I don't know what you do with your mac but this gen. iMacs propably does that job better than great.

BUY IT WHEN YOU NEED IT!

I know. I was making a joke. I got a 24" imac at Christmas and it's by far the best machine I've ever owned.

I'm part of a large majority of people (granted, the people on this forum are different), for whom the spec changes on the next machine will not be noticeable or worth waiting for. I find it mildly amusing how many people are told to wait for something that will have zero impact on their enjoyment of the machine.

Just a little laugh - browsing through the six pages of this thread, and tons of other threads with the same general topic, it's amazing how serious some of this stuff is taken - so I thought a little humor was appropriate.

There are people who really waits for something very fantastic to come for iMacs, like upgradeable hardware.

I saw nothing funny about your post.

But on the flipside there are those (like me) that would really notice the increased power and can afford to hang on that little bit longer for the new models especially when they're tantilisingly close

Don't get it why people are being so judgemental lately on forums .... every thread seems to decend to personal sniping

Then it wouldn't be an imac. It would be a different system all together.

For some odd strange reason, I got my money on any wednesday for the next 3 weeks.

I noticed imacs and wednesdays coincides.

Well, are the new iMacs coming or not. I thought these rumors talked of *imminent* release. I mean, if those guys really ordered iMacs and were told it would take slightly longer to deliver and it would be "worth the wait" - well I don't expect the wait would take a couple of weeks, no?

So where are the damn iMacs already!

Jesus christ guys, Lesser Events is right, this may be a rumor site, but your all basing things on speculations that don't even make sense. If you want an iMac, go buy one, its an awesome machine, and be honest with yourself... Chances are you DONT NEED A QUAD CORE, you probably don't even need a duo core. This iMac already has plenty of speed for almost anything you can throw at it. Whether thats facebook, posting insane rumors on message boards, or listening to itunes...

So either just sit on your hands and wait and, or go buy one, but this wishful thinking you all do just gets peoples hopes up

I totally agree with you. If you need it, buy it. Most of the people does so easy tasks with computers that it doesn't need any HC hardware.

Those people who does heavy tasks needs power (like I do).

I'm waiting for better GPUs and DDR3 mem. Last week I almost purchased iMac, but then these issues about 1-3 week waiting time changed my mind.

Best post of this tired thread.

On non-keynote update days, the store goes down at 6 A.M. PST. That's 9 A.M. EST and 2 P.M. GMT, I believe.

It's been down around 7pm in CET on several occasions, i.e. before lunch, PST.
All in all, it varies.
I guess the goal is to have every update ready by the end of the day in Cupertino (with a publish happening at the beginning of the east coast workday), but every once in a while they find copy issues in either the original or a translation, which might not get fixed until the next day, delaying an update a bit.

Of course, nothing points to a significant update today, so it's a moot point.
