New iMac BTO Orders - Post Your Status Here

I ordered a 24 inch, 3.06ghz, 8gb RAM, and ATI Graphics card. My order was placed on March 9, yet the ship date is after yours, and you ordered today. Mine is scheduled for ship April 20 and Delivery April 24. WTF?

I've got the exact same thing, save the ram, as you, ordered on march 9 as well. I'm assuming it has to do with apple getting more confident about build time and when they will be able to ship. They put us at exactly 6 weeks from order date, on our 4-6 week estimates. Viva ordered when apple has lowered the expected wait to 3-5 weeks, and got pegged for a 4 week window, so his is estimated earlier.

In the past I've had orders from apple give estimate ship dates of 5-7 days from order day and they would ship 1-2 days instead. Apple probally won't take the time to revise the ship date, but I'm hoping they will fill them in order received, and as soon as possible. I'd imagine our april 20th date is the very last day they could possibly ship. And I really hope they can beat that as it stands.

you ordered 8gb, is why.

those who ordered on march 3 should have theirs shipped on the 14th
those who ordered on march 4 should have theirs shipped on the 15th
those who ordered march 5 should get it on the 16th
etc

that applies to buyers of the ATI upgrade.

On a separate note, why are there so many non-custom ordered imac posts in this built-to-order forum? Shouldn't they be posted in the "I ordered an imac" forum?

Not really bitching or anything, it just makes it hard to track how BTO's are going for other people when the majority of posts are non-BTO.

Ditto that, I guess people in their excitement don't read the post heading. It will be interesting to see when the first person who BTO with the ATI chip see the status change from whatever to prepared for shipment....
