I've seen a few different people predict the high end iMac CPU to be 3.06 core2duo Montevina (1066 Front side bus).

How is that different from the CURRENT high end iMac?? Which is also 3.06Ghz and a 1066FSB???
Where's my CPU upgrade?

-Mike

UPDATE: Quad core. Although, now I think about it, it is quite impossible to be like that.

Quad core isn't coming. Also, the 9400M would be a massive step down from the 2600 in the current units.

It's 10 W cooler (45 W vs. 55 W) and probably cheaper, which means the highest-end iMac can have a 3.2 GHz CPU. This also means the CPU speeds would be bumped 133~267 MHz.

Not this year, and probably not next year either.

The lowest-end iMac has a HD 2400.
