After buying an Apple leather case today and then going to Best Buy to mess with the Nomad side by side I think i like the nomad better except for the buttons. The nomad has a slightly taller lip for the screen and for the camera. It also just feels more substantial than the Apple case.

The big drawback to me though are the buttons on the nomad. The new aluminum buttons on the Apple case are vastly superior in feel. The nomad cases I tried the buttons just weren't that responsive. Maybe by itself I wouldn't notice as much but switching back and forth between the two it was glaring.

That said I think I may return the Apple case and get a Nomad. I feel a lot better having the bottom of my phone protected so the button issue is trade off I can deal with. Unfortunately my local Best Buy only had one Nomad brown in stock and some joker had marked the back all up with their fingernail. I'll have to scout another Best Buy.

I actually thought the buttons on the nomad were good, guess it's all comparative. It's too bad the apple doesn't protect the bottom like the Nomad, or that the Nomad doesn't have metal buttons like apple.

I picked up the brown nomad case at best buy for my 7 plus. It already had scratches and wear on it right out of the box so I don't know what that's about. Didn't mind much since it will get that way on its own either way. Opened a few boxes and all were that way. it feels good in the hand and smells great. bottom protection worries me that it wont work with my dock. waiting on my saddle brown apple case to do a comparison after they wear in.

I'm so vain, wish the Nomad included the Apple logo like the Apple case ;)

I'd be a buyer for sure.

I bought the Midnight Blue when I picked up my 7+ and heard some creaking when I grip tightly on the bottom part of the phone.

I eventually got it replaced and the creaking is substantially less but still a bit bothersome. I never had this issue with the leather case for my 6 so wondering if this is just a matter of the leather breaking in? It feels as if it's not wrapping tightly enough around the lower part of the phone.

As far as logo goes..I could go either way, if its embossed, then its classy.. but I DETEST the cutout window.. its just pointless and defeats point of protection when the back can get hit in that cutout.

Originally I bought the black leather Apple case for my JB 7+ but I found it a bit plain and boring. I dropped by the Apple Store and picked up the Storm Grey leather and immediately returned the black. I didn't think I would like the grey but damn it looks good on the JB, especially with the gunmetal machined buttons.

As with all Apple leather cases it started out slippery but the grip improves quickly as the leather breaks in. It's good now. I've had five of these cases over the last couple years and they've all been that way.

I'm about two weeks into my Sea Blue leather case and it definitely isn't any grippier than day 1 as far as I can tell. Still very slippery. I still love it though.

That's odd I have the Gray and Sea Blue, I've only had the blue on for about three days and it already feels grippier than it was out of the box. Probably has to do with how much the phone is used and how oily or dry your hands are. Mine are actually very dry and it takes forever for my cases to patina, probably because I wash my hands too much.

Perhaps I'm too clean too as I wash my hands often and have dry skin. Maybe natural oils make it grippier?

I read somewhere in this thread that one the leather begins to develop some wear the grip improves

I've had the leather cases for 5S, 6, 6S Plus, SE and my 7 and it felt great from day one apart from the 7, this is the first time I've not used a leather Apple case.

Me and hubby both had cases. I had black he had red. I could not grip the black, way too slippery and no grain in it whatsoever. I was going to return it but we swapped and the product red is a lot gripper. I think this is because it has a lot more grain like real leather. Weird how they are so different.

I ordered three different black cases and one had noticeably more grain than the other two. That is the one I kept.

Picked up the saddle brown today for 7 plus. I owned product red for both 5s and 6 too, and they definitely got grippier over time. While I do feel the saddle brown is slightly slippery, it has far more grip than a naked black 7 plus. My god this phone is smooth!

Just got my Storm Grey for my 7 Plus. Not slippery at all!

Is the camera cut out supposed to be perfect aligned? It seems like the distance between bottom of the cameras and the case is larger than the distance between the top of the cameras and the case. So it seems like the camera is closer to the top of the case. The lines and creases on the case does not bother me though.
