Am I the only one to write mean or draw obscene things on the leather case ?

Waiting a few more hours til my Zagg back protector settles in before I put on the Sea Blue case.

That's my biggest gripe with the leather case so far. If anything rubs on it you are rewarded with a permanent mark/scratch on your case.
This shouldn't be a surprise. Leather shoes, leather jackets, leather seats, leather phone cases... they all wear like this. Leather is durable -- it's animal hide, and in general will take a lot of abuse without tearing. The leather enthusiasts will tell you the scratches and scuffs will help make it uniquely yours and builds character of the leather... the pragmatist in me says it's a reminder of how much abuse your phone takes during its lifetime.

Just got the midnight blue leather case for my 7+..it seems really slippery in the hand. Does it get grippier as the case wears?

Few pics of my (matte) black 7 Plus in Storm Gray case compared to my Space Gray 6s Plus in the black leather case. I've picked the black leather for the past 2 years so I was looking forward to the new color option and I definitely like it. I also appreciate the addition of physical buttons this year. Upon taking pictures I realized that the colors are basically inversed/inverted this time around with my choices. Black case with a gray phone and then a gray case with a black phone.

As a few others have alluded to, trying to find a perfect leather case is difficult if not impossible. I've been using Apple leather cases for a few years now and have found they all have imperfections. In fact, my 6s case started to 'bubble' on the sides a bit in the past few months - it may be visible in the photos. So while they are definitely a premium price ($50 in the states) they are slim, elegant, and most importantly help protect the phone. In a few months there will be small scrapes, nicks, and other blemishes on the case and you'll soon forget that it wasn't perfect to begin with. It also shows that the case is doing it's job - protecting your phone.

Sprayed 3 coats of this (would have preferred to use Jason marks 'repel' but didn't have any at the moment) on the case. Don't know if it'll prevent the case from stains or whatever. Did it as more of an experiment for the macrumors community. Will check back in a few days with progress on the wear.

As far as NOMAD cases, I emailed them and asked them to cancel my order since I went ahead and just paid a bit more and got it from Best Buy, will be here sometime this week ( maybe Wednesday)

I used the same exact on my previous leather 6 and 6s cases. It doesn't stop discoloration but it slows it down.

I did the same thing and I'm LOVING the Nomad case. Easily better than my previous Apple leather case, no folds and covers the entire phone while still being very easy to access the lightning port.

Thanks, I picked up this coloured case as well today and am doing the all-protector coating as we speak.

Updated: Here are a few pics of my Matte Black 7 Plus after applying the all-protector.

I always liked the Apple leather case since the 6 Plus. I finally ordered a Storm Gray for my 7 Plus.

Has anyone had any issues with the open bottom?

I ordered a fake Apple leather case from Ebay last year for my 6 Plus just for the heck of it. The quality was horrible.

Been chasing the Sea Blue like a ghost. Every time Apple says it will be available Apple pushes back available date. What gives???

Does your zagg protector also protect the exposed bottom part near the speaker grills and lightning port?

It does not. It's only for the back. The sides, top and bottom are exposed. Not sure if I'll keep the Zagg. It's not playing well with my leather case. Very tight fit and it's scratching the Zagg which I'm thinking will loosen up the edges :(.

ugh thats the worst, sorry to hear that,

yeah im thinking about a solution heres because i dont want to keep the apple leather case and have the bottom of my iphone 7 plus exposed without some sort of protection so i was thinking about getting some screen protector for that bottom part but cant really find anything that will work for that bottom part

The Zagg was perfect case less or with the Apple Silicon case. With the apple leather case it appears to be a snug fit.

I don't think there is anything that will protect the bottom. I think pairing the leather case with a skin wrap would be extemly snug considering how it's played with my Zagg which isn't full body.

The leather case looks good in photos but boy does it feel insubstantial and fragile in person. Nonetheless I do like the color options like Storm Gray for the Jet Black but I'm not confident it'd do more than dress it up. Doesn't seem long-lasting and in drop tests on YouTube for older Apple cases the silicone case holds up much better for drop protection.

Regardless I'm not a fan of the new silicone case color options this year so I'm leaning towards trying a leather case and seeing if that changes my opinion. I'm sure it will look especially great with the Jet Black phone!
