Am I the only one to write mean or draw obscene things on the leather case ?
This shouldn't be a surprise. Leather shoes, leather jackets, leather seats, leather phone cases... they all wear like this. Leather is durable -- it's animal hide, and in general will take a lot of abuse without tearing. The leather enthusiasts will tell you the scratches and scuffs will help make it uniquely yours and builds character of the leather... the pragmatist in me says it's a reminder of how much abuse your phone takes during its lifetime. That's my biggest gripe with the leather case so far. If anything rubs on it you are rewarded with a permanent mark/scratch on your case.

Few pics of my (matte) black 7 Plus in Storm Gray case compared to my Space Gray 6s Plus in the black leather case. I've picked the black leather for the past 2 years so I was looking forward to the new color option and I definitely like it. I also appreciate the addition of physical buttons this year. Upon taking pictures I realized that the colors are basically inversed/inverted this time around with my choices. Black case with a gray phone and then a gray case with a black phone.
As a few others have alluded to, trying to find a perfect leather case is difficult if not impossible. I've been using Apple leather cases for a few years now and have found they all have imperfections. In fact, my 6s case started to 'bubble' on the sides a bit in the past few months - it may be visible in the photos. So while they are definitely a premium price ($50 in the states) they are slim, elegant, and most importantly help protect the phone. In a few months there will be small scrapes, nicks, and other blemishes on the case and you'll soon forget that it wasn't perfect to begin with. It also shows that the case is doing it's job - protecting your phone.
Picked up my saddle brown case tonight from the local apple store, have it sitting under some coffee grounds as we speak. Thanks to the previous poster for the idea!
Darkens the leather faster than just letting it age.Why coffee grounds? What did I miss?

Sprayed 3 coats of this (would have preferred to use Jason marks 'repel' but didn't have any at the moment) on the case. Don't know if it'll prevent the case from stains or whatever. Did it as more of an experiment for the macrumors community. Will check back in a few days with progress on the wear.
Taking a hit for the greater good haha. Thanks man keep us posted

As far as NOMAD cases, I emailed them and asked them to cancel my order since I went ahead and just paid a bit more and got it from Best Buy, will be here sometime this week ( maybe Wednesday)

Waiting a few more hours til my Zagg back protector settles in before I put on the Sea Blue case.
Does your zagg protector also protect the exposed bottom part near the speaker grills and lightning port?
It does not. It's only for the back. The sides, top and bottom are exposed. Not sure if I'll keep the Zagg. It's not playing well with my leather case. Very tight fit and it's scratching the Zagg which I'm thinking will loosen up the edges .
