I just got the black apple leather case, it is such a beautiful case i had to post about it, the leather is super soft and very high quality,

I was debating if i should get the Nomad Case instead of the Apple One (and save 10$ while at it) but i think im going to keep the apple leather case, the Nomad case also protects the bottom of the phone more but im really liking the quality of the apple leather case vs the complete protection of the Nomad leather case

I'll be checking out the Nomad case tomorrow in store to see how the quality is. It is a darker shade and I like that but I have seen the saddle brown apple case become a lot darker with age as well. I'm also digging the leather feel of the apple case and think the extra price is worth it.

The nomad case's leather quality is not even close to the leather quality of the Apple case and the 10$ additional price tag is well worth it, when you feel the Nomad case you will see what im saying, it is much rougher and just doesn't feel as high quality, you really have to see it to decide for yourself but the leather on the apple case is much nicer in my opinion and even though Nomad claims their case uses the finest leather in their marketing of the product i would have to disagree, Another thing i dont like about the Nomad case is that there is a tiny opening right about the Lightning port that exposes the bezel of the iPhone 7, i have no clue why they left that spot open and unprotected but when you look at the case from the front you will see what im saying.

Hers a shot to show the open bottom:

i think that just looks terrible and i prefer to have the larger opening on the bottom of the apple leather case than that weird looking opening on the bottom of the Nomad, if that opening wasn't there i would have opted to get the Nomad case over the apple case because it would have had full all around protection and wouldn't be looking strange with that weird opening near the lightning port when looking at the phone from the front angle

The only downside of the apple leather case is that big opening on the bottom ,it really opens up the opportunity to scratch the phone

Thanks! I really like the quality and feel of the apple case. I've ordered a Nodus access wallet as well and was really hoping that their 7 pluss cases would ship in September so that I could pick up their shell case as well.

What do you personally think of the strange looking opening on the Nomad Case near the lightning port? i ask because i want to get a second opinion on it. i think it destroys the front look of the entire phone with the way they did that lightning port cutout.

It does look a bit strange, but personally I'd get used to it. I think at this point, given the superiority in look and feel of the apple leather if one still wishes for bottom protection than the weird opening shouldn't be a deal breaker. For me personally, its about the look and feel of the leather above all else, and bottom protection is a distant fourth after lay on the table and button feel.

Here is the best tip I can give.

If you have an extra line upgrade available, you can make a reservation using the Apple upgrade program and choose a different upgrade option when you get to the store. I.E. ATT NEXT, purchase outright, etc.

My black leather iPhone 7 case does not fit correctly. The lower third of the case does not wrap around the edges and instead runs away from the iPhone. Not impresssed and will visit the Apple Store tomorrow.

My new midnight blue does the same thing too, although not as bad... Don't know if it's it will re-shape over time or I should return it for a new one...

I believe Nomad case uses Horween tannery so quality wise the Nomad may be better.

Is it really though? i mean i felt it in my hand at best buy and it didn't feel very premium feeling
I'm not sure cause I haven't received my order yet. I think the leather will develop a nice patina over time. Horween is a very old tannery based out of Chicago. A lot of companies use their leather. I'm hoping it looks and feels good.

In theory i'm sure they make great leather products but i tried both the brown and black version and best buy and they feel very stiff and rough compared to the apple leather, it also seems like the layer of leather on the Nomad case is thiner than the amount apple uses on the official apple leather case

That cut out is needed so the back can bend for the sides to fit over the curves of the phone. Without it the case won't fit as leather won't stretch to go over the phone like tpu cases.

Is the durability of the leather case much better than the silicone case? I've heard that the silicone peels off after a while

Guys, this is a "Leather" Case. It's going to have some imperfections, and creases; that's the nature and beauty of leather.

It's not plastic or silicone, so you shouldn't be expecting nor wanting a perfect case.

Like leather shoes, there are going to be some minor imperfections and creases, and that's what makes leather look so nice.
