My thoughts:
I don't think a iPhone sans phone will happen. Cost of parts is too high.
The next iPod can't exclusively feature flash. Owners of big libraries will feel left out. Besides, the cost of 32GB of flash is too high to be practical.
A new line of iPods isn't going to happen. Not minimal at all.
iPod with touch is feasible. Either:
Cut out Nano. Introduce iPod with touch (4GB, 8GB, 30GB, 80GB). Same price points.
-- 2 flash models, 2 HDD models.
-- Flash models are obviously thinner.
-- Otherwise, there's the same design across the whole "touch" line.
-- Cover Flow
-- Built-in speaker?
Or:
-- Nano with 2.2" widescreen (4GB/8GB)
-- iPod with 3.5" widescreen (30GB/80GB)
-- Same price points.
The most likely announcements for me would be:
- Product (RED) iPod Shuffle
- Price drops on all players ($49 shuffle, $50 off every other player)
- 6G iPod with aluminum casing
- iPod label removed off back side; only Apple logo remains
