regardless, they arent reinventing the wheel or rebuilding from the ground up. this is just a UX overhaul.

It's not, he's simply saying that it's far easier to handle music than it is a detailed map of the world, WITH competition![]()
Not really. iTunes still is the center of Apple's ecosystem. It is more important than any mac pro, or any computer ever made.
Riiight, so a computer that you need to get to the eco system in the first place is less important? Okay!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kremlinologythings are starting to get a bit off topic. anyhow, I know I might be going for the long shot, but do you guys think that iTunes 11's late release might be slightly related to the executive shakeup of Scott Forstall and John Browett?

10am PST / (6pm GMT for me) tomorrow seems to be our best bet.
It's been known for a while now that iTunes has been delayed. It's been all over Twitter. They are just doing anther iTunes Music Match and just keeping silent. We wont see the New iTunes until next year.

Not that iTunes is the center of Apple, cause it's not. But if you think that iTunes Store sells millions of album tracks per day just in the US, it's probably one of their most important softwares. And I'm not even talking about tv shows, movies and apps... the pressure to make no mistakes must be strong. That being said, delays are expected. But I still think they are going to drop it in October... iTunes updates are usually released without even being announced, and Apple keeps the 'coming in October' banner so until november there's no "real" delay. PS: I think they would know by now (there's only 2 days left in October) and at least remove that banner, imo.
I just hope all of a sudden the orange banner doesnt change to "coming soon" or "coming in november"
Oh, please. Apple has made tons of mistakes with iTunes over the years. The idea that they are all of a sudden handling it with white gloves and walking on eggshells is a figment of imagination.

you would think if they know they arent going to make the deadline - and they would know by now one way or another - that they would make the announcement asap instead of looking like some procrastinator and changing it at the stroke of midnight on the 31st
