Has Apple ever released software updates on the day of earnings calls?

Do Lion and Mountain Lion count as software?

The earnings call was on 24th of july, Mountain Lion came out on 25th.

Because iTunes isn't as big of a release as a new OS, maybe iTunes 11 will drop during or after the call. But yeah, Friday morning seems more likely...

You must be new around these forums... its a constant barrage of complaints. People are never happy or satisfied. Get used to it and strap in.

Nothing can be worse than the iTunes release with the buttons going up and down on the left that one release. That was a poor move.

The only issue I'm having is that the color scheme doesn't even match Mountain Lion and will look crazy next to the Mac App Store.

There is actually a bit of a gradient to the silver in iTunes 11

i only noticed gradient in the 'LCD screen' of the player, it looked kinda purple, which i wasnt that fond of, i preferred the green.

im going with october 31st, when they say end of october they mean the very end...

when they are going to update it wont it say "coming soon" instead of "coming in october" i think that is what they have done for some previous versions.

Do we know the new iTunes will be available for Windows as well as Mac? The Mountain Lion improvements still haven't made it to the Windows version of Safari so I'm worried iTunes will do the same.

yeah, late october but not 'THE END OF OCTOBER' i would say that LATE OCTOBER is understandable like after the 20th..that's what i would call LATE october! and on the apple website at the itunes section there is COMING IN OCTOBER!

Give them a week. Late October technically lasts until November 1st. They're ambiguous to give themselves some elbow room.
