In the conference call today they said it's coming soon, so we can squash that twitter rumor for good.

I don't like the fact that Apple didn't announce the exact date of the release, they should say the day when it comes out... so people stop wondering like freaks lol :)

It would be funny (in an entirely unfunny way, mind you) if the new iTunes just went virtually forgotten about like iWork 11 was.
Announced, and even demoed at a keynote, and then never mentioned again…

I watched the press conference on their website Tuesday and just finished listening to the conference call and still no solid mention of iTunes 11, damn Apple, why you torture me so? :(

So exactly when was this mythical iWork 11 shown, announced, or demoed? Because it wasn't.

I've seen ever keynote... yet I've never seen anything with iWork 11.... you have a link? All I recall is rumors of iWork 11, but no demo.

The new iTunes comes in 2 versions, for OSX and Windows.

There is no officially windows 8 support. That comes with iTunes 11.
I think they will launch Itunes 11 the day that Windows 8 wil be launched, so that they just can officially support Windows 8. Apple, as far as i know, doesn't support products before they are released.

They say iTunes 11 wil come in late october. They actually meant that it wil come when windows 8 get launched. They don't say that because it is bad marketing.

Windows 8 should launch on 26 october 2012.

They're not going to hold iTunes just because of Windows 8. That, combined with the fact that with 5 minutes in an image editor and FTP client, iTunes 10.7 could "support" Windows 8, since theres nothing that doesn't work: 10.7 works in Windows 8 exactly the same as it works in Windows 7.

They could make a metro version of itunes. That require more work.
Like:
iOS itunes for Metro.
Standard new itunes for old desktop style.
