New lifeproof nuud iPhone 5

I previously owned the LifeProof for iPhone 5 (the newer color ones). I experienced no issues except a slight oil slick effect on the screen. Screen sensitivity wasn't an issue at all for me either. It was a great case but I wanted to try other cases before settling on one for rugged use.

I'm currently using the Incipio Atlas and have no issues with this case whatsoever. It's like a LifeProof Fre but with a tempered glass screen protector. I haven't run into any audio issues because I use a Bluetooth headset, speaker, or my deck (via Bluetooth) to listen to music while in my car. The same goes when I owned the LifeProof (Bluetooth for everything).

I'll be sticking with the Atlas for now until it gets beaten up to the point it needs to be replaced.

Have you tried using the case's earpiece to talk on the phone instead of bluetooth?

For me, it was ridiculously diminished when someone was trying to listen to me talk. Plus, when I listened to someone else talk, it had some feedback issues.

I have to admit, the case is built very sturdy and won't scratch easily like the lifeproof, but I couldnt handle not using my phone to talk.

I switched over to lifeproof instead, and although the oil slick and puffy screen annoys me, the sound is great, both from speaker and earpiece.

BTW, why hasn't Lifeproof annouced anything about the release date of the nuud?

Bestbuy says its 7/7, but I havent heard any feedback from lifeproof.

I hope they don't delay it. IMA BE PISSSSSS :O)

I did take a bunch of calls without the use of a Bluetooth headset. So far no one has complained about any audio issues but I did notice a considerable loss in earpiece volume. I haven't experienced the screeching sound that others have complained about either.

I ended up keeping this case over the LifeProof Fre mainly because of the screen. I like how clear it is and I have no sensitivity issues nor any oil slick issues.
 
I went to my local bestbuy and they had 2 empty racks labeled iphone 5 lifeproof nuud black/white so I think they will be out tomorrow or the next day
 
It's available on best buys web site for store pick up. I ordered it. I guess I will cancel my pre order.
 
just checked Bestbuy and it says NOT available for Shipping but Store Pickup is Checked, although when I check which stores there are none listed.
 
I ordered from 2 different best buys that said available. Both orders were canceled. I had a feeling something like this was going to happen.
 
Just to see I checked a bunch of cities in California since that is west coast near the distribution point and all Best Buys show unavailable there as well. :(

I had the same issue. I did an online order for store pickup from four different best buy's near me and each one called and said they had a problem with their inventory system and they didn't really have the cases, even though their own in store inventory system showed stock.

I'm not sure what happened here, but it looks like there was some issue. I'm in central florida, for what it's worth.

One store is showing it in stock here near Phoenix, I'll call when they open to see if they really have it.

I live in Florida, and was told by a BB worker at the store that noone has any cases within in our area. They all got shorted 40 cases that never came in. This was in the West Palm Beach area.

Even called a BB that said it was in stock about an hrs away from me and they told me they don't have any cases either and that in stock it was showing on the BB website was prob a computer error.

EPIC FAIL to both companies.
 
And now my pre-order online just went to backorder. I ordered that one over a week ago.
 
Ordered this morning from BestBuy to pick up in the store here in South Florida, got a confirmation email to pick up. A few hours later got a call that it was not in stock and no stores had them yet this store was the only one that showed in stock for pick up. Not much options at this point. Asked for a refund. :mad:
 
Ok so, went to my local BestBuy, it showed 12 available. Didnt have it, they called all the other stores showing same thing.. no one has any.

Now they did get a display from Lifeproof with 2 top rows that were suppose to have the Nuud's but its empty. All other slots are full of the normal fre's in different colors.

I called Lifeproof and they said No BestBuy got them. Even Lifeproof themselves will not be selling it until the 12th. The Rep said that it was due to the Holiday and BestBuy gets their shipments on Thursday (which was July 4th) but that doesn't explain why Lifeproof themselves won't have them available until the 12th?
 
Yeah, guess this is why LifeProof kept saying coming "sometime in July" on their Facebook page. They won't commit to a date, which is probably smart on their part.

I just wonder if its some sort of issue they ran into with the case design that caused them to postpone or is it just a holiday delay?

I don't think so. Remember, it was only Best Buy who said it would be available on 7/7/13, no LifeProof. LifeProof only promised "July".

Same boat here, ordered online with pickup at a local store who showed it in stock. Email said ready for pickup followed by another email saying the item wasn't available in Burleson TX. No idea how that got switched around since I ordered the pickup in Mesa AZ.

Either way, just got another email stating the item is not in stock. Bummer, guess we're all going to have to wait a bit :(
 
A BestBuy rep said that LP attached the sku # for the new Nüüd iPhone case to a delivery of new Fré colors (lime green, Yellow, etc...) So as stores where checking in these Fré cases, it was showing as the Nüüd iPhone case. Apparently that's why stores were showing it in stock & allowing people to order them.
Big oops huh?
 
Was so excited today...

Called local BB rep yesterday and told him if nuud for iphone 5 was in stock, guy says 14 available tomorrow (today)

Went today and nothing :(

Lying POS! X)

Think he either got confused with nuud for "new" or he thought I meant for the iPad

Some other rep said inventory shows BB in El Centro, CA has 4, and I'm in San Diego, CA

He checks with el Centro store and NOTHING

Worst day EVER!

Hahah....
