I take it there's been no reports of MBAs being shipped to stores yet so an online order is the best bet (assuming they are released today)?

I was really hoping for the option of 8 GBs of ram. I am willing to pay for it! Come on, Apple, take my money.

This.

At least on the 13" model where there's a bit more physical footprint to possibly implement it (honestly don't know if / how the sizes of the 11 and 13" logic boards differ).

And new hardware.

Source? Did you hear it from your girlfriend's brother's cousin who knows a guy from high school that's dating the girl whose dog groomer's friend knows this fellow who overheard a couple of Geek Squad guys talking 'very knowledgeably' about it?

Ew, that's kind of long. Just call him Mr. Y.

If so, why haven't you published this to the front page already?!?

These specs seem to be realistic except the fact that the 2 Ultimates are equal in specs. I'm guessing the 13" Ultimate will have an 8 gb RAM option and perhaps 2.0 GHz i7. Nevertheless, sign me up for an 11" Ultimate if indeed it'll have 256gb.

"Town"
- the seven hour battery life and bigger screen for those who dont like it and yeah!

I'm picking up the slighty more expensive version of the Macbook Air 11.
I dont need the extra .1 GHZ of power and I certainly do not need 256gb.

I'm with you on this one, good specs, not too big though. I'm going with it because it weighs two and a half pounds.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Question.. Is the 1.7 in the 13" still a faster processor than the 1.86 c2d???

I've still got my fingers crossed, but NO FIREWIRE or THUNDERBOLT?

IF the only notable change is the processor then this is squandered technology. SandyBridge is a pretty powerful chip and coupled with SSD it really can make the Air ann incredibly powerful little workstation, but without Firewire or Thunderbolt then that means we'd be relying on USB 2 (not even 3) to access our hard drives. Thats a HUGE bottleneck and for me its a major disappointment because that means I cant get one.

I think 4gb of ram is what you are going to get but keep trying to will it in to existence. You guys need to make your Apple predictions realistic.

If they don't have the backlit keyboard and larger SSD then it has already lost 90% of their appeal at least with me, and I'm sure with a lot of others.

Maybe. As much as the lack of backlit keyboard was a factor in me returning my Air, I think the processor was the real problem. And this seems to be the update that addresses that.

I cannot imagine the new MBA without a TB port. It would not make any sense for Apple to do this.
