I tried an aura ring last year, but I found it far too thick and the sensor bumps dug into my finger and made it go numb.
Sounds like they have reduced the sensor bump, but until the ring is ring sized, I won't be trying again.

You gotta think about it as just a ring. The problem is battery life, I want to put the ring and never have to worry again about it. Until they get months lasting battery life this is a no go. It would be the same awful product as the Apple Watch
Even though I have no interest in buying an Apple Watch, the Apple Watch is not an awful product. The battery life is a compromise, yes, but the device’s overall capabilities are through the roof.

I’d be into an apple ring purely as a tech-forward fashion accessory (same way I view the watch) but I don’t think they would cannibalize the market for their own product. It would have to do something that the Apple Watch couldn’t do.

On the other hand I could totally see myself getting an Oura ring. Maybe never even charging it or opening the app either for that matter. Just something to wear. They should make one in gold.

So...you just want a ring, then.

If the ring comes in enough small sizes and not are so bulky as the watch, I might consider it.
But will they do them small enough for women’s hands and fingers?

THe Apple Watch 10 makes you realise how a slight thinning and bigger screen makes this feel more like an analogue watch. It just sits and feels better.

My 3 died and my 5 has dreadful battery like after upgrading to WatchOS 10. Wish I hadnt.
Yes battery health was down to 62% but the 3 would long outlast it ... the 10 has great battery life doing the same things I do with it.

One common theme here and I think we are gonna be stuck at our current level of technology until we can get past it.

Batteries seem to be about as dense as they can get and the gains keep getting smaller and smaller.

Until we have a physics breakthrough I don't know how much more high power technology we can cram into small packages without having to charge them constantly.

All of this technology is a hypochondriac’s wet dream come true. Pandering to OCD sufferers as a way to make money? And in the U.S. lifespans are decreasing, not increasing.
Depending on you look at it maybe it's a hypochondriac’s nightmare.

Tech is our thing, that's why we're all here. I have an Apple watch and don't wear it. Ugly. I use the Withings Scan watch 1. It looks "mechanical," elegant, and provides what I need. I recently purchased the RingConn Gen 2, 10-day battery life and keeps steps, SPO2< heart rate, sleep, fitness and if you wish determines Sleep Apenia.I miss my mechanical watches if this new ring works out I can ditch the Scan Watch, wear the ring and enjoy my classic watches. We live in tech heaven.

There is a gold one.

I have a phobia against putting on rings. Is there a word for it? Like when I am close to putting it on my finger it's like I can't breathe, scared that I won't get it off again. I tried it with the Samsung one at a store a few weeks ago and I was like i caaaaaant

Wow, I've never heard of this. I looked it up, it's called kosmemophobia - fear of wearing jewellery.

Just wait for solid state batteries, coming next year if Toyota's car demo is still on-track. Much denser batteries mean that we can get way more energy into the same size of batteries that we have today. Everything will benefit, from cars to smart watches/rings.

I have a ton of health problems but hate wearing a watch.
So I’m interested, but would wait a little while to see if Apple make one.

Yeah I wear my Apple Watch 99% of days, but if Apple made an Apple ring to keep track of vitals, I could use my Apple Watch on some days and not loose out on metrics when I want to wear my mechanical watches once in a while - would be nice.

Also I sleep with mine and not really an issue, but have heard many say they think it's uncomfortable so that could be a sleep tracker as well.
I've lost 2 stone (28lb/61.6kg) in two months, thanks entirely to my Watch and the Lose It! app, so I've been living in mine. It can fast charge so, while I could sleep in it and track that, I also cannot sleep in the Watch. I am a fidgety sleeper, so it's especially not suitable for me to sleep in. An Ring would be ideal and I'd wear both every day, most likely.

I'd be so on board for an Apple version of this. I like the sleep stats from my Apple Watch, but I don't at all love wearing it to bed.

I don't know, but it’s a healthy fear to have in Middle-earth.

I’m just thinking about how hard is to pull my wedding ring off. Which for finger for this new ring?
Not to mention the $349.
I wore one for a research study and the paperwork indicated it's to be worn on your index finger, though it also worked just fine on my ring finger.

Apple needs to release one to force them to drop the subscription BS. That alone is enough for me to not even look at it.
