Not only is expensive, ,it also wants a subscription! $6 + tax per month.

No thanks.

"Without membership, you cannot access the Oura API"
Yeah, I checked them out a few months ago. I want to track/log my info and keep it local. If I want to give it to my doctor, then I decide to do it. I don't want to pay every month to use something that cost a few hundred dollars and be a company's product by shipping them my info each day.

Apple should've bought them to get a head start on their ring. Same with Masimo. They could've done it with the spare change in Tim's couch cushions. Get the products done and into the market rather than being in continuous litigation for everything.

I really like my Oura ring. It’s HSA eligible. At my old job, they gave me $500 in HSA dollars for completing a physical, and then I got a new job so I used the old HSA dollars on one lol. So I’m fine paying the $70/year on the subscription because it would take over 5 years to exceed the value of the ring I got.

Lost me at "subscription".

Filed in the "I'd like but no chance" list, just under the new reMarkable.

Yeah I wear my Apple Watch 99% of days, but if Apple made an Apple ring to keep track of vitals, I could use my Apple Watch on some days and not loose out on metrics when I want to wear my mechanical watches once in a while - would be nice.

Also I sleep with mine and not really an issue, but have heard many say they think it's uncomfortable so that could be a sleep tracker as well.
I switch wrist at night and use a soft solo band, that is the most comfortable I could make it - works well for me

I would love an Apple ring to complement my Apple Watch.
I’d love an Apple Ring to replace the watch (which I’m barely wearing now). I just don’t want some distracting bulky and frankly ugly device on my wrist. Give me passive metrics that’s comfortable and barely there in the form of a ring.

Why would anyone want an Apple Ring when you have an Apple Watch? It measures mostly the same metrics. I don't see anything I would get out of it. Probably why said product doesn't exist.

If this comes without subscription, I'd buy a dozen. But you need subscription just to see your own metrics. It sucks...

The only reason why I’m looking into it is if my replacement Ultra 1, doesn’t have the Sp02 sensor enabled by the time I need a battery replacement. I’m also looking into booking a weekend trip to Canada and buy an Apple Watch there. I have sleep apnea and asthma, so the Sp02 sensor is a needed feature for me. Hopefully by that time Apple has this all worked out. Also it’s HSA eligible.

I use an Ultra 1 for all of my fitness tracking. I’m only considering an Oura 4, if my replacement Ultra (will need a battery replacement at some point) has the blood oxygen sensor disabled. I need the sensor 2 health conditions that I have, so even thought it’s not medical grade like the hospitals, it has been pretty spot on for my tracking, and I will like to continue to track so that I can continue yo provide my doctors with this data.
So the Blood Oxygen App is gone, but if I ask my black Ultra Watch 2 what my blood oxygen is, it displays it on the screen.

I just asked, and it was 98%.

The app is there, but the sensor is turned off for any watch sold after the ban went into effect. I’m sure Apple has the sensor installed on new Apple Watches, but can not activate the sensor until the patent expires or until some sort of deal is worked out.

I'm telling you, I asked Siri, "what is my blood oxygen level" and the screen lights up with the percentage.

It's a Black Ultra 2--brand new.

Can someone else try and confirm?

Doesn’t Apple make more in one day then they make in a year? Why do we need Apple jewelry?

Just look at Oura ring website and the hundreds of thousands of users. It's really not that hard, people.
The first one that comes to mind:
- sleep monitoring without having to wear a watch on your wrist.
But we understand, you've made it clear in a few posts here: this is not a product for you guys.

Yeah I really liked the ring (series 2 I think) when I had one — not too conspicuous (though the fact that they’re even slimmer now is appreciated), and I sort of felt like the sleep analytics were more accurate than my Apple Watch’s were.

I can’t really justify having both a Watch and a Ring though, or at least not at that price; maybe once my Watch gives out I’ll take the plunge.

Chicago. Pretty sure that's in the United States.

I literally just asked it.

99% blood oxygen level.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I just hope that Apple works something out before I have to get a battery replacement for my Ultra 1. I’m at 87% battery capacity now. Who knows if the replacement will have the sensor activated. I have a friend who had her S6 replaced with the sensor deactivated, while her husband, had his watch replaced with his sensor activated, so I guess it depends at this point.

bought one of these in november 2024. the battery lasted 7 days easily though i charged it every 3rd day or so. as time has gone on the battery life got shorter until about a week ago when it was lasting only about 2 days. then about 4 days ago it started needing to be charged every day and cutting out in the middle of the night, losing all sleep tracking info. when putting it on the charger it showed 80% battery almost immediately.

i did their ai chat thing which pulled whatever battery health data they had on their end and it immediately came back saying "we detected an issue with the battery on your ring". then the CSR that picked up the case immediately asked me for details to provide a replacement. they do not want the old ring back.

i probably should have ordered a different size - i bought this to replace my wedding ring and it doesn't quite fit snugly on my ring finger though it's the only size that will get over the knuckle on that hand. it just occurred to me that i could have kept the dead ring as my wedding ring and bought one that fits my index finger, which i think is the finger they recommend. oh well.

the thing that sucks about this is that the replacement might be refurb. and the warranty does not reset, so after 4 months if this happens again, i'm SOL. on the other hand if they are not asking for rings to be shipped back, maybe there are no refurbished rings to distribute.

honestly i'm not sure if this thing was worth it. the app is a lot more complex than the apple watch health stuff, but i feel a little like it's just "baffle them with ********" level stuff. the app doesn't give you access to the actual o2 sat data and does not write the o2 sat data to Health. thus i can't really get any comparison to my other o2 sat devices and i have no idea what the absolute values were when it says i had an o2 sat anomaly while sleeping. the only info it gives is the average o2 sat while sleeping. similarly for the sleep history it really only shows a graph which does not let you suss out what the actual sleep phase times were. but all of this sleep tracking stuff is BS, so i don't worry about it.

I’m going to purchase one in a few months. I managed to find old stock of AWU2 with the O2 sensor still activated and tested out the breathing disturbances and sleep apnea notifications. Of course after testing this since November 2024, I wasn’t happy and am glad I still use my Wellue O2 ring at night, which has been better at detecting when my O2 levels drop.

yes i have the wellue one that attaches to the wrist and has a finger sensor. it works really well. the emay one has better resolution (1 sample per second) but hurts my finger.
