what case is that? Spigen Ultra Flip?
That's the Elago S5 Leather Flip. Just picture the Spigen Ultra Flip but with no card slot.

Saw one of these in the flesh yesterday and wow, I'm slightly in love. First flip case I have ever liked.
However is was a first edition with the flap that wont lay against the screen. Question is, is the second edition really much better and should I order direct?
Mine was doing this too and I contacted support through their website. Support sent me a new one and said I could dispose of the old one as I saw fit so I decided to try a little experiment. I got out the iron set for wool with steam off and some parchment paper (NOT WAX) placed over the grey side of the flap so the back of the phone is holding it in place. Then I ironed the flap with gentle pressure all the way around. Voila everything glued back together good as new. I haven't put my replacement case back on yet. We'll see if this holds up. It has only been a couple of days. Was this from the first time? Cause I do feel that the material inside the leather seems "stiffer" and "sturdier" i'm not sure if that's just the thought that's in my head or it's actually true. We'll see in a few weeks.
Anyone know where I can pick up a legit black surfacepad? According to twelve south they are hoping to have them available again for te end of March. I wonder if they made some revisions and that's why they have been out of stock.
I just picked one up frm amazon. Loving the case so far.
They are sold out there. When did you pick one up?
just two days ago, and they have one left in stock right now heres the link hurry..

Thanks!!! Checked and DataVision is an authorized seller. Amazon had no stock. They had one and now they have 19. Go figure.
Looks like Vaja now offers a upscale version.

It looks nice but compare to SurfacePad:
1. Leather looks thicker.
2. No built-in stand.
3. Left side is more exposed.
4. Price $80.
The key for me is the magnetic closure. I really wish the surfacepad had this.
I don't know why they did not put a magnet in the surfacepad. Surely the iPhone had enough metal in it to hold on too.

Not quite, aluminum is not magnetic and besides that there isn't a significant amount of magnetic metals to make the case stay closed.
Also one easy way to tell you have the newer version is if the front flap lays flat on the front screen when you put the phone down on a table face up.
TwelveSouth must be getting the 3rd batch. They have sold out of the SurfacePad for iPhone 5 for a week or so. I called and they said it should be coming anytime now. Even Amazon have sold out too...it looks like it's becoming popular. I can't wait to get mine.Yup. The "second" run of these are significantly better then the first batch. Great customer service and quick improvements make this one a stellar cover. And the front flap does stay closed when placed face up on the newer ones. Also, no separation in this batch. I really like this cover.
Thinking red might look good on a black phone too . . . Like others, just want to make sure I get the current version.
For sure you'll get the new version...I'm waiting for the Jet Black. Like I mentioned TwelveSouth totally sold out followed by Amazon. From my understanding, Amazon is their biggest customer (in terms of quantity).
