And when iOS 10 is released and 3rd party apps can secure themselves on the lock screen you and many others will no doubt be back to complain that you "Can't do X with Y on the lock screen" because you changed an accessibility setting.
I appreciate you telling me how something in the future will make me act. Saves me time.

I was just posting a link that made me like the home button again, as I did not love the change in 10. It might help someone. It might not. Cheers

No problem

So you are talking about what's already being discussed for the last page or so of this thread over the last few weeks basically? (And it still doesn't do anything related to actual "sliding" to unlock.)
I apologize for posting something that was already posted. I am new here (but not totally new to forums, so no excuse for not knowing to look and search first) and was just happy to see some threads that related to what I had seen so far and things I had not.

I have an iPad Air (has no touch ID) and a smart cover. iOS 10 Beta 5.

Simply opening up the smart cover takes me directly to the apps - it bypasses the home screen completely.

If I have the smart cover opened already, I need to either click the home button twice, or click the wake/sleep button and then the home button.

That's an interesting functionality of the smart cover, that it works as 2 home button clicks! (On iOS 9, I still had to swipe if I remember)

Don't have to swipe with the smart cover with iOS 9 either.

That's right but this functionality returned with beta 4 or public beta 3.

The behavior is exactly the same as in iOS 9. Meaning, if you have notifications that you haven't seen already, you will be guided to the lock screen when you remove the smart cover. But when you don't have a notification, you'll be brought to the home screen directly. The behavior is the same in both iOS 9 and iOS 10 now.
