You’re right it’s not a difficult thing, but once you get used to just setting it down somewhere and have it start charging, plugging it in starts to feel like finagling (especially since headphones only have the port on one ear cup). It’s like a key hook. I don’t ever worry that I might have set it down and forgot to charge it, which I did a lot with the old AirPods cases (and still do with my Max)."Finagle"... aka "plug it in". Well this is a genius plan. So I can take in a pay for a 80 battery replacement and hope they just replace the band and such?Been using mine constantly since they came out, and I didn't realize how bad the stretching was until I took mine in for battery replacement ($80) and they were nice enough to replace the headband with a new one. I'd forgotten how nice and springy the mesh was when I first got it. Anyway, the statement that they don't have any parts to replace is hogwash. My advice to you, if your battery is at all seeming past its prime, is to maybe spring for the battery replacement and see if they hook you up?
I'll also add that for no particular reason they also replaced the right ear-cup on mine. Not the foam pad, but the entire thing. Maybe the tech at the service center was just in a good mood.
No guarantee on replacing the headband, of course. I'm not sure how routine it is for them to replace the whole right earcup, but apparently that's where the battery is, so they might have just done that for expediency. For me it was worth the $80 for just the battery, but the headband was a nice bonus.Well this is a genius plan. Is it really that easy?
sweet, moving to this plan. Do they do a test on battery in store, or just ship it out and back? thanks - appreciate itNo guarantee on replacing the headband, of course. In my case, they didn't test anything that I saw. I dropped them off one day and got an email they were ready to pick up 2 days later.sweet, moving to this plan. Do they do a test on battery in store, or just ship it out and back? thanks - appreciate it
