It's actually inaccurate.

says the person who has been tooting the android horn over and over again...

I do understand WHY google released without LTE, but it's funny to see all the people talking themselves out of it now.

but whatever, see what you want to see.

Did you miss the numerous posts I made about how Google still has a long way to go in forging important relationships with carriers to release LTE/CDMA versions? And how that's good for Google and consumers?

No one is talking "out of" LTE. Just simply pointing out all unlocked devices are sold without LTE (including the iPhone 4/4S). And that the tradeoffs for LTE, which is nearly double the iPhone battery life, may be worth it, especially when you factor in the value for such future-specs.

The beauty of Android is the freedom of choice. LTE is available on Android. No one is saying Android shouldn't have it.

Glad to see you in this part of the forums. I haven't been visiting the hacks section ever since I got my GS3 :D

Hey 3bs! Good to see you too!

Yeah, I haven't been in the hacks section in 6 months or so. I'm loving my S3, and while I might eventually pick up an iPhone 5 down the road, I probably won't bother jailbreaking again (since it's becoming harder and harder for them to find exploits).

I'm definitely getting one of the Nexus 4's, though! I can't wait! Hope you're doing well! :D

This thing is still tempting me. Maybe it's the specs or clean Android or the device in general, but it looks like quite a beast.

I'm still researching T-Mobile's network vs. Verizon, and seeing if I really want to switch. Motorola phone if not.

Well a few months from now I'm moving to Los Angeles. From what I can gather, T-Mobile is pretty good there, just not as good as Verizon.

I'd definitely try to ask some as-objective-as-possible people there with Tmobile to give you some feedback. Ask especially about how well they receive signal when in doors. I find that's when Tmobile runs into trouble, when you're deep inside a building (like at a mall, or deep inside an office building, etc.).

Good luck.

Very interesting phone offering top features at less than half the price of most rivals. Can't wait for reviews.

Yeah, and that's where Verizon is awesome. I really like what Motorola is doing with their phones as well. Thanks for the advice.

wow 10 pages of LTE talk...

I watched the video of the nexus 4 posted here and it said it had the Sony camera lens but some other reviews state that they're using LGs 8mp lens.

Which one can we rely on?

Also, What Sony lens is it? I really hope its the same one from the xperia arc 2011 as it was great. Also used in the iphone 4s

I've been enjoying my S3 too but I need a Nexus device so I'll l definitely be getting it too!

I don't see myself going back to iOS anytime soon and I'm not the type to use multiple phones at the same time. I've been well thanks hope you are too.

I can't wait to see how the camera is. Would be awesome if it's iPhone 4S-quality. Doubt it, but something close to that would be great.

With a Nexus model, there are some subtle advantages of rather great significance.

For example, Google has worked closely with both Samsung & now LG, to create an ideal shape, which is not only very comfortable in hand, but provides a very secure grip. I've never dropped my Nexus, even if I was bumped unexpectedly. This might not sound like much till you hold one & experience it for yourself.

With all Android versions higher than 4.0 Google has made it very easy & requiring fewer steps to update the OS, or run a wide variety of launchers, widgets, and other customizations. Never before has it been so easy and safe to do as many upgrades or changes, as it is now.

The LG Nexus 4 promises to be one very popular model. It's bound to gain momentum in the marketplace as word spreads about it's many advantages. Google has spent more time than ever working closely with the manufacturer to insure this is the finest Android available.

Although I'm very happy with my current Nexus, the primary reason I'm buying a Nexus 4 is it's retina grade display. With only a 4 pixel difference between it & an iPhone, what makes the Nexus so much better, is the larger modern size display. I can type so fast & accurately, it's amazing. Not to mention the vast difference when surfing the web.

Finally it's so refreshing to see how reasonably priced it is.

Google really "gets it".

I hope so too. I'd hate to be downgrading in that department but it's not that big of a deal for me since I only take the occasional photo here and there.

I think for the first time ever, they're finally paving the right path for the Nexus brand to gain momentum. And based on The Verge's visit, the guys over at Google are just so much more relatable, humble, and modest both about their accomplishments and about their past shortcomings with the Nexus line. It's great to see them get their act together this year.

But, they still have a long ways to go. LTE will be a sore spot for a lot of people. They still need to forge relations with the carriers to release CDMA/LTE specific versions. Hopefully they'll gain some clout as the Nexus branding gains prominence in the coming year.

First, let me preface this by saying I'm looking at this from the US consumer's perspective.

I'm sorry but I think you are giving the general buying public far too much credit. Most people don't care about stock Android, how easy it is to update, rooting, unlocking, or flashing ROMs. They're not breaking down every little spec and comparing it to every other device on the market. They care about the price, bottom line and while this is a great price for an unlocked device, it's still significantly more expensive than nearly all subsidized smartphones. People go into a carrier's store, see a device listed as 'free' or $99 and it's got a big screen and says Android or it's an iPhone and it's only $199 for the same 16 GB and they're not going to buy this. 'But it's such a great price for an unlocked phone,' and their response is 'Why do I need an unlocked phone?' They don't care if they're signing a new 2 year contract because they're getting their $99 or free phone. The value of an unlocked device in the US is far less than overseas. We don't pay a reduced monthly bill if we purchase an unsubsidized phone--same cost either way.

The vast majority of US consumers aren't on these forums analyzing the hell out of every device that's released. The first 3 Nexus phones weren't big sellers and hate to break it to you but, this one isn't going to be a blockbuster either. Google isn't marketing it that way, else you'd see it available subsidized on every carrier.

Maybe not in the US but who's to say it won't elsewhere in the world?

I want one so bad! Hopefully LG's radios are better than Samsung cause the galaxy nexus had terrible signal strength.

Head of user experience for Google tells Why there is no Micro SD card in Nexus devices.
Kind of a BS reason if you ask me.

I don't think it's BS but I still don't understand why they don't give users an option. The people who think it will complicate things can stick to the internal memory.

"With a Nexus you know exactly how much storage you get upfront and you can decide what’s the right size for you. That’s simple and good for users." Matias Duarte

Well the issue with that is they're not giving us many options to pick and for a lot of users 16GB just isn't enough!
