I couldn't agree more! Amazing how uninformed people are around here!
To the people (and there are plenty of them over on XDA as well) that are crying over it not having LTE, get over it. Good lord, for those of us that live in "flyover country", we don't have and won't be getting LTE any time soon. We couldn't care less about LTE yet.
To the people that are with Verizon or Sprint (who do have LTE)...sorry about your luck. The funny thing is, those of you that own the "Galaxy Nexus" that those carriers sold, you didn't have a real Galaxy Nexus anyway. Google made a HUGE mistake by committing a version of the GNex to the carriers and they know it and won't make that same mistake again. I had Jelly Bean on my real GNex a few days after Google announced it...how about you guys? Yep, that's what I thought. If you've got a phone where the carrier still controls the OS updates and those updates don't come straight from Google, then you don't have a real Nexus phone. Why on Earth they called those abominations the "Galaxy Nexus" is beyond me.
I'm griping over absolutely NOTHING with this new Nexus 4. I'll gladly pay $350 through Google Play and enjoy a wonderful, pure Android experience. And when I feel like it, I'll easily flash one of the hundreds of custom ROMs that will surely follow. I can relax knowing that it's nearly impossible to brick it and I can easily go back to stock 4.2 if I want.
While I understand some people's gripes over wanting more on-board storage space, 16 gb is more than enough for me personally. I love the fact that LG is bringing more premium-feeling materials to the Nexus line (although that's not a requirement for me). And finally, I'm extremely excited that they've finally brought the camera in-line with other high-end smartphones (as I use the camera on my phone on a daily basis).
For this price, what do you have to gripe about? Nothing. It'll be a great phone with a GREAT OS and it will be updated in a timely manner. That's really all you can ask for, especially for this kind of money.
