I remember also the N5 had very weak Wi-Fi signal. Only one bar where my SGS3 had 2-3.

Odd... My nexus pulls the same speed and signal strength as my 5s.

One thing to consider is the possibility that the read our is different. Manufacturers are known to do that. According to andantech the signal on the wifi and cell was on par with other phones.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. Outdoor shots can make any camera look good. Its the indoor shots that really test a camera sensor.

What made you go back to the 5s?

I have both phones....and at this point in time I really prefer the nexus 5. It has addressed all the weaknesses I used to see in android compared to iphone.

The screen is extremely accurate in color reproduction, nothing crazy saturated like other android phones. Plus...the screen size is perfect.

The touch input lag seems to have been addressed here, and is something I have read reviews regarding. It is every bit as responsive as my 5s to touch.

The speed of the phone and smoothness of the system is on par with the 5s, and rivals the 5s in some areas.

The camera is good. The iphone 5s captures good photos, but it over exposes some shots. The HDR+ on the nexus 5 takes the best photos I have seen from a smart phone.

Battery life is comparable to the 5s.

Updates are guaranteed.

Productivity is much higher on this phone, largely due to integration from google.

Can't really think of something that the iphone 5s is exceedingly better at, though I have been trying to....

I'm content in the Apple Ecosystem and I can't justify buying a new phone, even though I can sell my 5s and still have a some money left over.

I didn't even think about the input lag, maybe that was an attribute to why I liked the screen.

Come again? The N5 and S4 are essentially identical in size. The N5 is .05 mm wider and .03 mm shorter than the S4. They are identical in weight. (4.59 oz/130 grams.)

Really? Damn I look like a fool! When I was using the Nexus 5 it didn't feel big at all, where as when I've used an S3/S4, it's felt too big.

I must be going crazy.

I would say it's less an issue of inside/outside and image quality and more an issue of trying to catch moving subjects with any kind of speed. Shots of objects have always looked decent, even before the software update. The update helped a lot but it's still way slower than I would like and it sometimes takes a picture without focusing and I have to tap the screen and manually force it to focus. If you really want to test the camera try it on kids who have a hard time sitting still.

I disagree. The quality I see coming from typical indoor shots on a Nexus 5 isn't that great. Before and after the "update."

I'd argue indoor image quality is far less of an issue than camera speed and how it works with moving subjects.

Quite honestly I don't see too much of a difference between the pictures I take with my iPhone 5S and Nexus 5. Sure the iPhone's still better, but not by much.

I would agree with you on that. I have both phones and do not see a difference. I have taken side by side pictures and cannot tell them apart. But then I am no professional photographer either.....

How does the screen compare to an iPhone 4s? I'm looking to switch mine to a nexus 5. I've heard that the nexus had average color and viewing angles, but if it's at least as good as my iPhone i'll be happy.

You should go to Bestbuy or T-Mobile store to see for yourself. Personally, I like my Nexus' screen than my daughter's 4s.

I see a huge difference between the two. Then again, I'm not really impressed by my 5s, either. Kind of miss my Lumia 928 for taking impressive shots. I may be excessive, but I'm almost considering getting a 1020 for days I'm going out with my girlfriend/friends.

Enough of that; anyway, I'm using the stock camera app on my N5. What are you using that's getting better results?

I just use the stock camera app that comes with the phone. I mainly take outdoor pictures in daylight. So can't speak to the low light issues others have had with both phones....
The 1020 camera is supposed to be awesome!

Just to give people an update ive been using my Nexus 5 on ART for the past 4 months and it defiantly runs better then on the Dalvik runtime. I have not had one bit of lag in the 4 months of using ART. I Highly recommend it.

Mate the Nexus 5 is excellent - the screen is actually quite wonderful.

The gamma on the Nexus 5 is a little low compared to current LCD phone displays, which makes it look slightly washed out. I haven't seen it next to an iPhone 4S, but next to the iPhone 5, colors aren't as saturated. It isn't as bad as the Nexus 4 was, but I was personally disappointed with the saturation during the time I had the Nexus 5.

You can fix it, though.

Anyone have an issue with bluetooth not making a successful handshake unless the N5 is rebooted? This seems to happen to me most often after coming out of airplane mode. I'll go get into a rental car, the N5 will see the device, even give me a PIN prompt, but after that it just times out. Once I restart, it pairs immediately. I've tried just turning bluetooth off and on to no avail. Restarting is the only fix I've found.
