I read online you have to contact AT&T first before doing so???

Maybe if you don't already have a plan provisioned for VVM. I've had VVM on my account since it was available with the first iPhone and haven't had to contact AT&T to get it set up on any of my subsequent phones.

Yeah I've had VVM since day one.

Edit: I just downloaded YouMail. I'll just use that unless it causes any problems.

It's done now that I manually downloaded each app but can you explain this just so I know for the future? I don't remember leaving any boxes unchecked during first boot.

Upon first boot, or after restoring the phone to it's original state: watch very carefully during the first few screens. After it asks for your Google sign in, the next screen will have two or three questions and checkboxes. It's very easy to misread unless you deliberately go slow. I know because I've missed it myself. Read carefully you'll not have a problem. It's a very useful feature since it will duplicate your exact collection of apps just like they were arranged by you earlier. There's a built in download accelerator that makes quick work out of the process as well.

Then I missed it? And download accelerator?

I've been using my new N5 since Thursday. Overall I absolutely love this phone, however anything you do that requires the screen to remain on kills the battery. I'm assuming this is the sacrifice one must make to have such a wonderfully light device.

Well my time with the Nexus 5 has come to an end, I bought an iPhone yesterday and am going to be selling the Nexus.

What caused me to leave:
- Battery life (I had wireless chargers in the house so I could make it through a day)

- Cell signal (In my house I have very little signal which hurts battery and at work my signal is so low it would drain my battery in 2-3 hours if I left it on, the iPhone doesn't struggle as badly in these weak signal areas and has great service in my house)

- Android OS (I will say that android is great and for the most part I really enjoyed it, but I spent too much time trying to tweak it and make it better. Ultimately I prefer iOS but am certainly a fan of both systems)

- Security (For some reason on the nexus I never use a passcode so going to having touch id gives me a lot better security)

Things I will miss:
- Screen (size and quality are both close to perfect)

- wireless charging (not a deal breaker feature but certainly very convenient)

- NFC (didn't use it that often but always nice to have the option)

- Customization (pretty much on both sides of my list. It is nice to be able to customize but it can also become annoying with always trying to find a better way to do things)

Anyway what are used 32GB phones going for lately?

I wouldn't really call that security; it's more along the line of convenience. It's been shown to be mostly trivial to get past touchID if you have the resources; it only deters common thieves but is still easy for you.

Seems like most people have sold their Nexus 5 and moved to other flagships?

Those who still are using it as their daily driver, how is the battery life holding up months after release? Do you find it's still enough?

Well....today was good:confused:

I have a little over 2 hours of on screen time with 10% left. Unplugged at 630am. I definitely wasn't a power user today, more light-moderate but more on the light side lol. Alot of textfree back and forth...a few texts...a few emails, and less then 10 minutes in calls today. Im not sure what to think about it. It lasted me the full day but not a lot of usage. I would like to say Im satisfied with it but I feel it should be more?

I have my 5S right here in the box and debating on making my return or keep the N5.

Battery life has been great for me. I usually finish the day with 30-50% left and 2-3 hours screen time. I did start seeing an increase in idle drain about a month ago, but it was inconsistent; some days I would see little drain, while others I would see a drop of 10% in an hour. Flashed franco.Kernel and have had very low idle drain since. I can now take it off the charger at 6:30 before I leave for work and I'll still be in the mid nineties by lunch.

Still love my Nexus. The S5 and M8 didn't really impress me. Now waiting for the G3, Note 4, and the next Nexus.

I usually average around 4.5 hours of screen on time when I don't charge during the day but have a wireless charger at home and work so battery life isn't much of an issue.

Updated the camera app and so far I like it. UI is a bit different with the huge shutter button but its very simple and easy to use. Panorama results seem a lot better and lens blur actually works pretty well.

Thanks. Looks like there's also an android update that should be out soon that includes more camera improvements along with a number of other fixes.
