Crap.....I want this.

Well, anyone looking to buy a Nexus 5 for $200? Just need to scrounge up the other $450.....

I have a problem.

----------

I will say this - the OIS on the 6+ works well though. It does have that over the Nexus 6 in those vids.

Still, pretty stark difference.....

I just need to buy one and try it for myself. All there is to it. :p

Well, gonna take it with a grain of salt because we have no specific details about this comparison other than the resolutions. Of course 4K video will likely look better than 1080p at a lower frame rate. And why set the iPhone video recording only to 30 FPS when it's capable of 60? It would carry more weight if he did a comparison using the same settings on both phones.

It certainly looks promising but I'll wait for official reviews/comparisons before passing judgement.

There are still pics in the comparison as well but regardless, it looks like the Nexus has improved

Understood but again, no specific details (i.e. settings, which are closer to real life colors, etc). The iPhone stills and video certainly appear to have a warm tone and are a bit dull while to my eye, the Nexus 6 colors appear a bit oversaturated. The detail in the Nexus 6 shots was pretty impressive though.

Regardless, at initial glance it seems to be a marked improvement over typical Moto and Nexus cameras of the past.

Since N6 has the same camera as Moto X, will Moto X camera software be updated soon? There is a drastic difference between 2 devices!

Regardless of whether or not it was a fair comparison (I'm as pro-iOS/iPhone as it gets), the real takeaway here is we finally have a Nexus that has a great camera.

I'm definitely getting one.

Does no one else think the iPhone clips in that video are just awful? I have never seen a video look like that and be taken by an iPhone.

Yup, and exactly my point. Critical reviews of the iPhone have near universal praise for its camera performance yet when this guy takes a video, it's all of a sudden god awful. Again, grain of salt...

I had to fight the urge as well, though my urge is more for Lollipop than for a specific Android phone. So I unpacked my LG G Pad 8.3 GPE to get reacquainted. As I believe Google has said GPE devices should see the update to Lollipop fairly quickly, and the Nexus 6 order backlog looks like it's pushed back well into November, I should be able to hold out until the G Pad gets the update to satisfy my Lollipop 'itch'....I hope. ;)

I figured the Nexus 5 would satisfy my Lollipop/Android curiosity.....but I really like the looks of the Nexus 6 and it seems like its got everything.

Only a bit wider than my 6+, which I can handle just fine. I'll use it like a small tablet.

Funny - I went back to read through this thread and found my post on page 1 claiming if the Nexus 6 were 5.5", I would never buy it.....boy has my tune changed!

I agree with what you and tbaygrs said. I really have a craving for lollipop. I know if I walk into T-Mobile on 11/12 and they have a nexus 6 I will buy it.

Yup, if I had to pick another phone right now, would be the Nexus 6, without hesitation. After my time with the 6+, color me converted--I'm all in on the large 5.5-6" display phone.

I'm kind of interested in the 6 now.

I have had my 5S through T-Mobile for 11 months now so to upgrade, T-Mobile shows on the site that I have to pay full price for the iPhone 6 and 6+ and any phone that T-Mobile sells. I think they realized that they never charged me monthly for the installment plan on my 5S like they were supposed to do.

Anyways, I've been going back and forth between the 6+ and the Nexus 6 I'm still using my Nexus 4 also but it's been nothing but trouble with that phone for two years. It turns off half the time in my pocket or turns on (even though I have a pattern unlock) until I feel the heat in my pocket and turn it off. That kind of makes me cautious about the Nexus 6 and why I skipped the Nexus 5.

If I'm gonna py over $600 for a phone though, I keep thinking the 6+ is the better deal just because of iOS and I have never had the problems with any iPhone that I've had with the Nexus 4.

There is no other Android phone that I've been interested in.
