Seems bizarre that a year and a quarter later, they're still shipping the original configurations of the nMP. I know there's probably more to update beyond just swapping in a faster CPU but it even the initial version felt like there was new tech coming fairly soon that would be a big improvement over the first version.
OK, not this time around yet.
New MBAs and MBPs with updated CPUs and a steep price increase.
Also, the TB Display took a big hit, now 150€ more expensive. How come?
WTF Apple, are you trying to drive us away?
It looks like Apple doesn't care much about the loyal fans spending big money.
There's more profit in selling ten or twenty times the number of iToys to newbies.
$500 for a watch that you'll recycle next year when the Iwatch2 is released (and you'll probably need to buy an Iphone7 to use it)? This should be one of the Ferengi rules of acquisition.

Tough crowd. Give them time.
???
Wait, expecting the biggest tech company in the world to update a model I don't know, once a year, is "tough"?
If the company isn't going to take products like this one seriously, why did they even bother to do a major update, only to let it rot again?

...
Not sure if the US prices include taxes, I believe it's different from state to state, and I believe shipping is also a factor.

i highly doubt they're letting it go.
pretty sure they're following the schedule which was already set in place prior to the first release..
you're suggesting apple spent (possibly) billions on r&d with the game plan being "let's launch then see what happens.. then decide if we should keep going or let it go"..?
they spent billions on a long term plan.. or, at least a ten year plan like the other mac pro.
one mac pro upgrade per year probably isn't going to be happening (macpro 16.1 not likely.. they'll maybe make it to 10.. then end the whole X thing after that)
i think they worked on it for a number of years, right? maybe since 2010?Apple spent a total of 1.7 billion on R&D last year for all it's products. So if you, let's say, divide that by the percentage of Apples total sales attributed to the Mac Pro it would seem to be a much smaller number but still not insignificant.
national debt is a hoax.. how on earth can the debt be repaid when there's more debt on earth than money? i suppose you could make some more money except doing that increases the debt exponentially.. but such is the system we live in and accept1.7 billion dollars of waste on R&D could only be accomplishes by the U.S. government as it's minuscule compared to the 18 Trillion nation debt.![]()

The nMP isn't a POS.
If it doesn't work for you, why does it matter when they come out with a new one?

Nobody expects a new case every year. But it's not that hard to take a model and move to the latest CPUs when they're available. And if their plan didn't include going to a new CPU once a year or so then yeah, they failed in a big way.
Why would they want to upgrade only the CPU if they are right now giving minor upgrade? Of course 14 or even 18(disputable...) cores are truly amazing proposition, but more important are GPUs.
