ok i've just updated my iphon 4 to ios 5 and the camera button doesn't appear in the lock screen even if i tap the home button twice. the ipod menu shows up but the camera button doesn't. anyone knows what could be the problem?

The camera button isn't very noticeable. If it shows up, t's at the right edge of "slide to unlock" on the lock screen. To get to emergency call, you actually have to go past the slide to unlock screen and, if your phone has an unlock code, you can now see the emergency call button. To get back to the screen that includes the camera button, you have to hit cancel.

If you are on a lock screen without ipod controls or a camera button, hit home twice and it toggles those elements on or off.

I know where the icon is supposed to come up but it just doesn't. the "slide to unlock" bar stays the same when i press the home butto twice. only the music (ipod) controls appear a the top below the hour

Try double-clicking the home button again. If the camera button isn't there in the lower right corner, go to Apple support express lane for help.

Give the iPhone a couple of minutes to update, or reboot it, should work afterwards. Mine seemed to not work for the first couple of minutes.

I have the same problem. And my country is not supported by the apple support express lane so if anyone can post the solution it is super appreciated else I have no more camera

ok so it's lightning fast to go to camera from lock screen.
But is there a shortcut from home?
I mean, there is the camera app icon... but the lock-way is always on the same spot.. you never need to browse pages, you can do it w/o looking .... there should be something in the home... I don't kow ... triple-clicking volume button??

if you use it that often, put it on the dock?

RE: camera icon with lock screen

Just updated, it deleted all my apps, no biggie, i'll re-download. but i just noticed, isnt there supposed to be a camera icon on the lock screen so you can take photos from there? i dont see even a button...anyone else?

With iPhone in standby mode... you have to DOUBLE CLICK the round button to activate the camera in lock mode.

wow

Never realized how many people don't know how to search on Google for simple questions. This forum seems better served with more difficult questions.

Even if you didn't get a user guide during the upgrade, if you search for many topics in Google, you'll find the appropriate link to an Apple Support document or other blog with user tips.

I did google this issue and low and behold I ended up here...The double click of the home button on the lock screen does not give me the camera icon to the right of the lock screen slider...Nor does a triple click, quadruple click or any other click...

And you are running iOS 5, right? What does happen when you double-click the Home button?

I like how no one reads the posts because this question was answered about a million times in this tread lol lol lol....

K, I don't mean to be blunt, but can everyone stop being total idiots and READ. THE. THREAD.

Hey guys, I was playing around with my iPhone today and I figured out if you double tap the home button you can access the camera from the lock screen!!!!!!!

Why is this seriously happening? A lot of you guys in this thread are asking the same question; "why isn't there any camera-ikon on my lockscreen?"

It has been answerede. Already a few minutes after the thread was posted. It was the right answer, but you guys keeps asking the same question, and you'll always get the same answer.

So, please, everyone. Remember to read and search more next time you have a question. It is sure already answered somewhere on the forum.

You do realize that the majority of the questions asking how to get the camera button on the lock screen were merged into this thread.. right?? At least I think they were.. But I see what you're saying. Some people might not know about the search feature on forums.. or they're just to lazy to use it.

It really cracks me up how many times people had to explain how to get the camera button to appear. I must have seen people say "double click home button" at least 20 times alone in the first couple of pages. Merged or not, this still cracks me.

I think the funniest thing was that when I saw the button wasn't there I was like, thats odd....pressed home twice...and there it was...oh ok, thats how you get it....
